Colorado ski areas share snowmaking plans as excitement grows across Rocky Mountains

The higher elevation peaks in and around Summit County saw the first significant snowfall of the season last week on Sept. 5, bringing excitement for the upcoming winter season.

I have made a pivot in my plans. I am still departing the Vinoy & St. Pete on June 2nd, but I'm not going to the Bahamas.

Instead going to do a Gulf Coast Yacht Club tour. Going as far north as Carlouel (north Clearwater) and as far south as Naples. Doing this over the next two months (June and July). Not hitting all of the clubs but probably around 10 of them.

I will be at Pass-a-Grille YC until 6/9...stop by if you are in the area
Or maybe one of the clubs along the way.

Still planning to put Odyssey on the hard starting in August, so that I can be focused on building the house in NC.

I have found a yard in Charlotte Harbor (SW Florida not NC) for on the hard storage. If anyone knows of others up the Okeechobee waterway, I would love to hear about them.

Breck is building a new gondola at the base of Peak 9, where one of my condos is.

This is a great surprise. My condo is on the 5th floor, so the views won't be affected. And it will be overlooking the gondola loading.

Its purpose is to quickly move people mid-way up and they are going to relocate the ski school there. There is also an awesome mid-mountain lodge at the upload.

Breck got a good spring storm earlier this week and was under a storm watch until yesterday.

But the closing date is this Sunday May 12th.

Friday starts what I am calling a year of ___. Well, I haven't come up with a name for it yet, but I will.

This is the first step. A sailboat race from St. Pete to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. It is the 52nd running of this race, sponsored by the St Pete Yacht Club.

Friday at 10am, we cross the start line near the pier. For a 500nm race across the Gulf. Blue water sailing after leaving Egmont Key off the stern. 3 nights, maybe 4, depending on the wind, but it is forecast to be blowing. 6-person crew, 24x7 racing...no, you don't stop at night.

Onboard the Split Decision, Hylas 53', Captianed by John Hamm - who has circumnavigated our blue planet.

Some may recall I was going to do the St. Anthony's Tri Sprint..the same weekend, but when invited to partake in this, the decision wasn't hard.
