Thanks to all our friends who donated coasters to our kitchen/art room. This smaller experience within A Cook's Tour is called You Don't Have To Go Home But You Can't Stay Here.
Want to be part of our house art? I could use funky stickers or coasters. Additionally if our world traveling friends have some small coins from other countries I could use some foreign change for two sunken treasure strips amongst the kitchen maps and ocean.
Our hallway is transforming into my art piece/experience Connection, which explores the ties that connect us to each other.
The stair railings represent people we care about from the past, present and future. I just finished the railing on the right, which represents . The left railing represents .
Thanks to Josh has a cool new addition to his patch jacket.
Some pink yarn is slowly getting warped onto my loom. The last weaving is for a current art piece. This WIP will hopefully be my first rug.
Getting my warp on this weekend with the help of my lovely assistant.
I'm almost done with my latest yarnbomb. This railing is for Josh's mom Sheila who passed away in 2019. She would have liked our house.
This marks the 26th railing covered in yarn. I'm over halfway done now!
Hey friends want to contribute to our Art House? If you come across cool stickers or coasters please save them for me. Or if you're traveling mail us a postcard. They will be added to the kitchen cabinet experiences.
This dress is a thick fabric and the folded over hem was too much for this needle even though it was for heavy fabrics. Breaking and bending needles are par for the course in the life of a costume designer!
If you come see production of Petticoat Rebellion you'll see this skirt in Act 1.
I'm honored to repair this gorgeous 1909 hat from This hat is on loan for production of Petticoat Rebellion.
I wonder what the owner Ella Ross would have thought of the real Petticoat Rebellion? Maybe she even voted for the women candidates in 1916?
I'd like to think she would approve of her hat being used to bring this fabulous historical event to the stage.

This piece was finished last year but my art documentation is lagging behind.
Entanglement - Twilly 23 - Fiber Artist in Oregon Josh’s stepmom mailed me a box of gorgeous yarn with a request to make her a piece of art. I decided to weave a piece and add embellishments. During her and Josh’s dad visit we took them along the pedestrian bridge over the Umatilla River. I remember looking down at the river and soaking in the ...
I'm tarting up hats today for production of Petticoat Rebellion. 1916 hats were over the top fashion wise. Such an inspiration!
I'm working on costumes today for production of Petticoat Rebellion. Suspenders are so cool, I wish they were more popular.
How many tears do you mend before throwing a piece of clothing away? Josh's purple pants just got its 15th patch. He had these pants when we first started dating so I'm not ready to part with them yet. After a short stint in my mending pile they are ready to be worn again.
The precious warp wasn't working. Too old of yarn, too slippery loom and too chaotic warp spread prompted me to cut it off and try again. This time I measured the warp spacing, used a higher quality yarn and taped it into place as I wrapped.
It's moth season, which means it's time to fortify my defenses. I made a dozen cedar bags today using thrifted materials.
Ever wonder what thrift store lingerie could be used for? If it's meshy fabric, cut it up into rectangles and make satchels!
Once the smell fades, you can change out the cedar chips or spray them with cedar essential oil.
Today's 2pm matinee is your last chance to see production of Anne of Green Gables. I saw it Friday night. Laughed through the first act, cried through the second. This is such a sweet story, near and dear to me when I was growing up. Highly recommend this show!!
Knitting friends-in addition to helping with costumes I also knit the WIP piece Mrs. Lynde works on.
The opening reception for Local Color was amazing - 220 people came! I was delighted that my deer was next friend Heidi's weaving. This show is so colorful and all the artists are so talented.
If you haven't already seen the show at it will be running all through May into June.
How to make a costume look more historical? First step is grabbing a seam ripper and taking off that modern label. Next steps are attaching suspenders and pairing it with a time appropriate shirt.
Seam rippers are one of the most important tools for a costume designer!
These pants are for upcoming show Anne of Green Gables! Buy your tickets at https://collegecommunitytheatre.com/
I'm excited to share that I'll be in an upcoming art show at the Betty Feves Gallery at
Thanks for the invite !
Opening reception is this Friday. Art, food and live jazz-now that's a rocking Friday night!
Beginning a new art piece today-Fleeting Embrace.
This weekend my evolving art piece A Cook's Tour got a much anticipated addition.
I repurposed this thrift store painting into the perfect frame for Beastie Boys linear notes. Now the NYC skyline is hanging by St. Bourdain.
Friday night mend night! I like to have themes for my mends and have decided these pants will be mended with hearts.

Find Your Way - Twilly 23 - Fiber Artist in Oregon Find Your Way is my one of my latest art pieces. I completed it early spring 2023. Find Your Way is named after a Rising Appalachia song. The yarn used consists of handspun yarn that I spun over a 14 year period. It represents my journey of finding myself after rebooting my life in 2012. Find Your W...
