Red red Rose.....🌹
Been trying to make a Rose that was as close to as the real one. Think l finally got one that looks good. Now I just have to make few more in this size, few smaller ones and leaves 🍃and l will be happy 🙃
My first hat, victorian day hat.
Will post better pics later.
Pleats done, 12 meters of dupion silk and l dont know how many pics. Now I just need to put it on the bottom on the skirt. Happy days....🍹
Looking at some old projects, the good old times :)
My final project at the Arts University of Bournemouth. An 1880´s bustle day dress, including all the undergarments.
the bodice has 30 handmade Dorset cross wheel buttons and a rosette on the lower back. The skirt has a long train and draping to match that is almost 3 meters if taken down. The draping train is styled almost to resemble a heart shape and to make it more narrow at the back as was fashionable. The petticoat is styled after the skirt and added gathered frills and back frills to give more volume to the skirt.
The bustle itself is from an 1875 pattern that my tutor Mandy let me experiment with.
The Symington corded and quilted corset pattern is also from Mandy Barringtons book stays and corsets vol 2. I took the colours and reversed them from black and yellow to yellow and black.
The combination undergarment pattern is taken from the great Jean Hunnisett, book period costumes for stage and screen 1800-1909. I had of course make the pattern larger and I altered the neckline so it would not have any straps.
Hope you enjoy my work :)
