A new chapter in my teaching career has begun! I will be starting a new job this fall as the Physical Education and Health Teacher at McElwain Elementary in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. I’m so excited to be a McElwain Steggy! I have to give a big thank you to the entire district at Adams 12 for already making me feel so welcome.

Lil’ Vikes, this is definitely not a good bye. You all hold such a special and permanent place in my heart. I can’t show enough gratitude to the students and families of Gilcrest Elementary. You all have always had my back and made me feel so supported and loved. You will definitely be seeing me around next school year, and the years to come, at both school and community events. You are my family, I love you, and I care about you.

This Memorial Day weekend I was finally able to mark another adventure off my bucket list by being a Guardian for the Rocky Mountain Honor Flight. A few other Guardians and myself escorted 2 WW2, 1 Korea, and 27 Vietnam Veterans to our nations capitol to celebrate them and their service. For the majority of them, they have never been to any of the war memorials in DC. It was a humbling experience to be around them and hear their stories as well as the stories of the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines they served with. Along the way, I was able to connect with a few Magnificent Bastards… my favorite 81, and the 2/4 Fox Co Commander who served as a Bastard from 1977-1978. Remember The Fallen. Honor The Dead.

Ladies and gentlemen, the weekend…

Who says professional development can’t be fun?

Navigating behavior can be a very daunting task. In this session, participants will gain the tools to confidently respond to all degrees of behavior, which will help keep students in the classroom and out of the office. The presenters — two teachers with diverse backgrounds in education — will provide a variety of situations with accompanying solutions. Participants will have an opportunity to experience real-life scenarios through role play and small group activities.

Sundays are all about Sled Hockey at the Greeley Ice Haus! Come join us from 1:45pm to 2:45pm, regardless of your ability or skill level. The Ice Haus has equipment to rent and experienced players are ready to help you learn this amazing sport. Sled Hockey is for everyone!

Field day is one of the best parts of the year. In this session, participants will experience two very unique ways to plan and execute field day. Participants will take part in two versions of field day: one being more centered on community, while the other focuses on social and emotional tasks. There is no wrong way to do field day, but only one can reign supreme!

I’m so lucky to get a front row seat in to their athletic lives. Happy National Girls & Women In Sports Day!

After several months of work, I’ve finally completed the WQW Built For More Program. I can’t thank Warriors and Quiet Waters enough for the amount of energy they put in to me and my fellow vets. They are a fantastic nonprofit with staff that make you feel supported from beginning to end.

We finished up our final FX in Devils Lake, North Dakota. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Thank You WQW❤️

The Greeley Ice Haus is open to everyone and caters to skaters of all skill levels and abilities. One incredible offering that began at the Ice Haus in 2017 is their sled hockey program. Sled hockey is a sit-down version of ice hockey designed for players who have lower-limb impairments that prevent them from playing traditional stand-up hockey.

The Doors will be open at 7:50am, workout starts at 8am!

Students are allowed to come in later but they only get credit for the workout if they are present for the entire session. This session is worth 2 punches on their membership card. Students need a water bottle and proper shoes they can be active in.

Our before school fitness club is up and running! Gym Ratzz is a club that promotes the health related benefits of fitness/strength training and introduces proper gym etiquette to elementary students. We already have 55 members and we plan to add several more throughout the year. Every workout earns students a punch on their punch card. 10 punches gets them this custom Gym Ratzz water bottle provided by
