First years spent time with high school or college students- raising awareness about the profession and educating them about genetic counseling as a potential career option!

Today our students participated in activities in honor of by making origami zebras, learning about life with EDS, playing rare disease day trivia, watching Diagnosis on Netflix and of course, wearing stripes! 🦓

Yesterday, our students met with the Intro to Genetics undergraduate course at SLC to conduct a needs assessment for our upcoming Outreach Project!
It is with tremendous excitement that we announce the Warren Alpert Foundation Genetic Counseling Scholarship. This full scholarship will be awarded to two students from underrepresented populations across five different genetic counseling programs, and we are so grateful to be one of those programs.
In order to apply for the scholarship at Sarah Lawrence College, you must submit your application by the application deadline, December 17th. Those who are invited to interview for our program and are interested in the scholarship, will be given the opportunity to write an essay. More details about this scholarship, and other scholarships that we offer, will be given at interviews!

We have another introduction post for you today! Join us in giving a warm welcome to Zara Brown, our new office administrator, and member of the SLC HGP family! Zara has her Bachelors in Business Administration and Masters in International Business. She brings extensive administrative experience in the education field and we are so lucky to have her as an integral part of our program faculty!
