Well...the year is quickly coming to an end. Thank you for being here along the journey and for all of your support, I really appreciate you.
I've been trying to lean into moments of quiet and rest since my last post and it's something I will be continuing to do in order to reflect, plan for 2023 and create again, just because (something I'm really excited about).
I'm so incredibly grateful for the people who have connected with me and my work along the way and for the lighter, uplifting and encouraging moments that have restored hope especially within this creative journey that continues to teach me so much ๐ค
I hope you and your loved ones had a beautiful Christmas and holiday season and have a very Happy New Year. I hope its full of joy, rest and whatever else your soul needs.
With love,
Yvette โจ

I'm excited to share that I will be at market on Saturday 3rd December at Abney Public Hall in Stoke Newington from 11.30am - 5pm.
This will be my only in person event for the season so its a great opportunity to shop my pieces in person and discover, support and shop from an amazing line up of small businesses.
I will have a range of art prints, scarves and cards available on the day and I'm really looking forward to meeting and connecting with you.
It would be lovely to see you there โจ
Back in stock โจ
The last few weeks have been filled with days in the studio making these beautiful skinny scarves and I'm happy to share that these styles are back in stock (including the bestselling Ocean Foam scarf) with most designs available in the original thin size (approximately 7cm wide) and a wider version (approximately 11cm wide).
There are only a few of each design in the collection as a whole and they will be the last iterations of this phase of The Skinny Scarf collection as I begin to focus on new work in the new year. Thank you so much for all of your support so far, I hope these versatile pieces that I've made with the utmost love and care will be pieces you can enjoy for life.
These pieces and others from the collection will be with me at on Saturday 3rd December, a great opportunity to discover the collection in person.
I have a few personal favorites but which one is your favourite? Who would you gift a skinny scarf to? I'd love to know in the comments
As the year comes to an end, I wanted to share some of my highlights from 2021:
๐๐จ๐ง๐๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ค ๐๐๐๐
This was an experience that I will never forget. Being able to share my innermost inspirations and influences on my work from a lineage of incredible women and their craft in my family, to inviting you to engage in my process in person through workshops and demonstrations for the first time was definitely a memorable experience. It filled me with so much joy!

My first magazine feature! And what a great publication to be a part of. It was such a blessing to be featured alongside other talented female creatives. Thank you so much to senior managing editor Amber Demien for this incredible opportunity!

Launching my first art print collection expanded the ways in which I was able to share this very intimate, intuitive part of my practice with you. It has already inspired new ways in which I would like to allow you to experience my work and I can't wait to share more with you.
There's the little wins too, like seeing more beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and learning new skills just for fun. I am so grateful for the grace to have made it through another year whilst pursuing what I love.
Thank you so much for being here, and supporting and engaging with this creative journey.
Let's see where 2022 will take us ๐ซ
Wishing you all the very best for new year!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
I pray that however you're able to spend this holiday season peace, joy, love, light and hope will find you right where you are, even in the smallest of moments.
Sending you all so much love today and always!
With love,
Yvette โก
London Craft Week 2021 has been such an incredible event.
From what felt like pouring out my heart through a talk about the innermost inspirations and influences on my work from a lineage of incredible women and their craft, to inviting you in to engage in my process in person through workshops and demonstrations for the first time. I couldn't be more grateful for the response, the insightful, thought provoking conversations and shared enthusiasm about colour, craft and the importance of creativity and representation that has been expressed over the weekend.
Thank you to every single one of you who came along to one of my events, and had a kind word to say about my work. Its an experience I won't forget!
Taking time to reflect on these moments and regrouping my thoughts which I'm sure will spark new paths within my work. ๐ซ
I'm thrilled to announce that I will be taking part in London Craft Week
I look forward to sharing personal stories of craft discovery and familial creative heritage with you for the very first time, as well as insights into my creative process.

Absolutely thrilled to be featured in the summer issue of In Her Studio Magazine a beautiful publication dedicated to showcasing the work of female creatives and their spaces!
In my piece 'In Between Spaces' I share my creative journey so far and how my two creative spaces, my space at Textiles Hub London and a corner I have created at home, have had an impact on my practice

I N T U I T I O N | I N F L U E N C E
Sometimes I wonder where my colour choices come from and what influences them.
When starting a piece, I generally choose to use colours I'm drawn to in that moment but that pull has to come from somewhere right?
What influences our choice of favourite colour(s)?
People? Places? Memories? Sentiment?
All of these? More?
Just a train of thought I've had this week as I continue this painting practice.
F L O W | New day, new week, new month
2020 has been a year unlike any other filled with a mix of emotions, experiences and challenges that have shaped me in one way or another. It's been important for me to lean into rest and embrace the quiet moments in the last few weeks
Taking things slow, practicing gratitude where I can whilst giving myself time to ease into new ideas and new work.
Thank you so much for your support!
As always, stay safe and well.
Sending you lots of love
Have a happy new year everyone ๐ค

"When you buy something from an artist, designer, maker, you're buying more than an object.
You're buying hundreds of hours of errors & experimentation.
You're buying years of frustration and moments of pure joy.
You're not just buying one thing, you're buying a piece of a heart, a piece of a soul... a small piece of someone's life."

F L O W | When the light pours in
Painting | Textiles
I love this little corner in my home studio because of the fact that the two are displayed right next to each other.
Although these textile pieces aren't designed from these paintings it's interesting to see how they have subconsciously informed these paintings, there seems to be a kind of harmony between them.
Colour, painting, textiles.
The transition from one state to the other blurs the boundaries between painting and textiles
PRINTS COMING SOON
It's exciting to see the miniatures from the 'Finding F L O W' series transformed into prints. Colours just as vivid and the textural details just as noticeable
Finalising the size options and choosing which of the 50 miniatures to make available as prints
Textiles|Painting
The two main facets of my creative practice both inform and influence each other
The moment when I first see the transformation of a painting on fabric has got to be one of my favourite parts of the process
I love the transition and seeing the two come together in an entirely new piece that can be used in an entirely different way
Today's details
F L O W
Painting with intuition is a process I've developed over time, each painting evolving naturally.
As I paint, applying fluid colour to the surface, I respond to the movements and reactions of the medium, creating something new and often unexpected.
This is what inspires me about the process of painting. The dance of the medium colliding, meeting and merging via rivulets of colour that continue to move without interference even after the act of painting is complete. I often stop and watch the movement, taking in the slow moments that play a part in forming these dynamic pieces.
For me painting is ultimately collaboration between myself and the medium on the surface, painting in a state of F L O W
