Following this incident it has now emerged that this aircraft suffered an engine failure on take off!! It declared an emergency shortly after as a result and decreased altitude immediately and made a safe landing with fire service in attendance as a precautionary measure.

A Delta Airlines flight skidded off a taxiway at Rayleigh-Durham Int’l, in the icy conditions on Friday night.

Flight 5501 landed safely about 9 p.m. after arriving from , DC., but while taxiing to the gate, it rolled into the mud.

There were 19 passengers on board and there were no reported injuries, RDU officials said.

The passengers were being transported to Terminal 2.

said the runway reopened shortly before 10:30 p.m., allowing flights to resume landing and departing the airport.

Several incoming planes had to be diverted as a result of the incident.

The Delta aircraft will be safely towed, RDU officials said. Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker said the plane was not damaged.

An American Airlines passenger plane bound for turned around mid-flight due to a -related disruption on Wednesday.

"American Airlines flight 38 with service from (MIA) to London (LHR) returned to MIA due to a disruptive customer refusing to comply with the federal mask requirement," American Airlines said in a statement.

Local law enforcement met the flight at Miami International Airport, the airline said.

According to flight tracking site Flightradar24, the flight landed back in Miami one hour and 48 minutes after it departed.

Earlier this morning LOT Airline flight LO6521 shortly after departure returned back to its departure point after suffering a lightning strike - the pilots decided to return. It was scheduled from Warsaw, Poland to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Authorities in the Islands, which include , and , have imposed a fine of 24,000 euros on for charging passengers to bring hand luggage into the cabin.

Since 2018, the airline has changed its policy on free hand and started to apply an extra charge to be able to take a bag on board their planes. The only passengers exempt from this charge are those who have bought their tickets with the Boarding fare for an additional price. Everyone else is charged for any luggage that they take on board that exceeds 25cm x 20cm x 40cm.

The Consumers in Action organisation already launched complaints against this practice in November 2019 for being abusive towards passengers, and the Balearic Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs opened a disciplinary case against the Irish low-cost airline back in March 2021 stating that charging for cabin baggage could be an infringement of consumer regulations.

This is an abusive practice, says the Directorate-General, pointing out that several court rulings have ruled that hand luggage is not considered baggage, and that airlines are obliged to allow passengers to put it in the cabin free of charge.

In light of this, they have therefore decided to impose on Ryanair the maximum possible of 24,000 euros.

Ryanair may still lodge an administrative appeal in the courts against this decision.

Por ello, han decidido imponer a Ryanair la máxima posible de 24.000 euros.

Ryanair aún puede presentar un recurso administrativo en los tribunales contra esta decisión.

Etihad Airways said flights between Abu Dhabi and (Saudi Arabia) have been cancelled until March 28 due to operational reasons.

This does not apply to Saudi nationals.

Saudi nationals or exempted passengers, who have been in the above restricted countries in the past 14 days, must book institutional for a period of five days regardless of vaccination status. One can travel to Saudi Arabia if they are a national of Saudi Arabia, a GCC national, or have been fully vaccinated against -19 with an approved vaccine.

Volcanic ash from Saturday’s eruption of the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai underwater volcano has disrupted flight schedules in and out of . Some traffic was back online on Monday afternoon local time. A China Airlines 747 cargo plane circled and dumped fuel before returning to International Airport after reporting an engine problem shortly after take-off yesterday.

China Airlines cargo flight CI-5240 took off from Taoyuan Airport at 11:45 am bound for , . According to a United Daily News report, airport ground crew reported hearing an explosion and seeing flames shoot from the outside right engine of the four-engine plane during take-off. A pilot in another plane waiting for take-off also witnessed the incident.

China Airlines said that after take-off a problem was found with the No.4 engine. The other three engines were operating normally, and the aircraft could fly safely. However, based on safety considerations the flight crew, according to standard operating procedures, circled over the ocean and dumped fuel before returning and landing at 1:12 pm. CAL said that a full inspection of the aircraft will be carried out immediately.

Two people have reportedly survived a small plane crash in East at the Airport.

The incident was reported at 9:57 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, approximately 100 yards west of the Hāna Airport runway in heavy foliage.

Two men onboard, ages 61 and 70, were transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for further evaluation. One was transported via , and the other by ground ambulance, according to MFD reports.

Engine 7 personnel arrived on scene and located the crash site. It was confirmed that two individuals were aboard a small privately owned aircraft.

Earlier British Airways flight BA296 declared an emergency on approach to its destination whilst over Northern Ireland. It was scheduled from Chicago, US to London Heathrow, UK and landed safely. Incident details unknown at this stage.

Following this incident it has now emerged that this flight declared mayday emergency as the aircraft couldn’t retract the landing gear! It stopped climbing at 4,000ft and made an immediate return. It then became clear upon inspection that the cause of the landing gear not retracting was because of a hydraulic system loss. Fire crews met the aircraft on arrival.

An adventurous landing of an yesterday (14 Jan) at the airport of , when the plane went off the runway during its landing at the airport of the island.

Due to the extremely difficult weather conditions that prevailed as strong winds were blowing, the Olympic Air ATR42-600 aircraft registered SX-OAZ that made the flight OA22 ( – Milos Island) with 20 passengers could not stay on the runway during the landing and went out into the fields.

The authorities of Milos Island National Airport were immediately mobilised and the 20 passengers together with the 3-member crew, evacuated the aircraft with absolute safety.

None of the passengers was injured and the plane was not damaged.

Λόγω των εξαιρετικά δύσκολων καιρικών συνθηκών που επικρατούσαν καθώς έπνεαν ισχυροί άνεμοι, το αεροσκάφος ATR42-600 της Olympic Air κατέγραψε SX-OAZ που έκανε την πτήση OA22 ( #Αθήνα – Μήλος) με 20 επιβάτες να μην μπορεί να παραμείνει στον διάδρομο κατά την προσγείωση. και βγήκε στα χωράφια.

Άμεσα κινητοποιήθηκαν οι αρχές του Κρατικού Αερολιμένα Μήλου και οι 20 επιβάτες μαζί με το 3μελές πλήρωμα, εκκένωσαν το αεροσκάφος με απόλυτη ασφάλεια.

Κανείς από τους επιβάτες δεν τραυματίστηκε και το αεροπλάνο δεν υπέστη ζημιές.

Το αεροπλάνο χρειάστηκε να ρυμουλκηθεί από το σημείο προκειμένου να επιτραπεί η επαναλειτουργία του διαδρόμου για άλλο αεροσκάφος να αναχωρήσει για την Αθήνα.

Το περιστατικό του ατυχήματος έχει επιληφθεί της Ελληνικής Επιτροπής Διερεύνησης Ατυχημάτων και Ασφάλειας Πτήσεων ( #ΕΔΑΑΠ).

No injuries were reported after an had landing gear issues at -Mesa Gateway Airport on Thursday.

A fixed-wing aircraft experienced landing gear issues and crashed on an airport runway at about 1:05 p.m., the Mesa Fire and Medical Department said.

Two people were on board the aircraft.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.

Philippines announced that it will abide by and implement the Department Order 2022-001 issued by the Department of Transportation in setting new transportation guidelines for fully and guests.

The Department Order, issued in January 11, 2022, implemented a “no vax/ no ride” policy, which prohibits unvaccinated passengers from using public transportation whilst the National Capital Region is under Alert Level 3.

The airline said that starting January 17, 2022, it will continue to fly fully vaccinated guests from its hub. Unvaccinated passengers with purpose of essential travel from Metro Manila, such as those with medical conditions that prevent full -19 vaccination, will still be allowed to fly, provided that they present a duly signed medical certificate that includes the full name and contact details of their physician.

Meanwhile, the country’s flag carrier Airlines have also expressed support for the Department Order.

While Philippine Airlines expressed its support for the government’s initiative, it hasn’t officially announced that it will implement the order.

Less than a month after an Boeing 777-300 was involved in an incident where adequate airmanship was questioned, another incident has taken place at the airline. On January 9th, one of the carrier’s 777s was accelerating for when the crew was instructed to reject takeoff due to a crossing aircraft. Sources note that this aircraft had not been granted proper ATC clearance before initiating takeoff roll.

News of this incident comes via The Aviation Herald, which reports that the Boeing 777-300 registered A6-EQA had to reject takeoff due to a crossing aircraft. Taking place on January 9th with departure at 21:45 local time, the jet was operating flight , which was leaving for .

The 777 was accelerating down Dubai International Airport’s Runway 30R and had already reached a speed of approximately 100 knots over ground when ATC instructed them to reject takeoff due to a crossing aircraft. The crossing jet was another 777-300 registered A6-EBY, which was crossing over runway 30R using taxiway M5A, bound for taxiway N4.

The aircraft slowed safely, exiting runway 30R behind the other 777 that had just crossed its path. The incident jet also used taxiway N4 to vacate the runway, doing so behind A6-EBY.

EK524 taxied back and departed about 30 minutes after the rejected takeoff occurred.
