This pair of nightstand are really striking and exude a sleek, sophisticated presence. With an almost Art Deco feel due to the structural nature of their design they offer both a style statement as well as a functional purpose.

With two good sized drawers they have plenty of storage. These all run smoothly and have the original wood effect finish.

Painted in Mylands paint, colour ’no. 10’, it’s a true matt black which highlights the vintage handles.

If you missed out on my last cocktail cabinet maybe this new piece will interest you. Made by British manufacturer Nathan Furniture was originally designed as a writing bureau. With a few small adjustments it is now better suited to 21st Century living and can be used as a cocktail cabinet. The iconic ‘Jacobean squares’ design is often seen in Nathan furniture but the bureau’s are a rare find. Restored to its original finish this is a classic, retro piece.

The top section is 28.5cm in height, sufficiently tall to accommodate small batch spirit bottles and can be locked. Additional storage is available below in the double cupboard. A drinks preparation area is present made from antique effect mirror providing protection from spills and a little pizazz.

The central drawer is great for storing napkins, bottle openers and other paraphenalia. This has dovetail joints, runs smoothly and is clean inside.

How gorgeous this chest of drawers?

Made by British manufacturer G-plan it has been rejuvenated with some care and attention. The old varnish has been removed and nourishing protective hard wearing oil has been applied to enhance the wood tones.

The legs have their original brass details and have adjustable risers so perfect for uneven floors!

The drawers are all in fantastic condition and run smoothly. The top two have removable dividers which are great for organisation while the bottom two are extremely spacious.

This stunning chest of drawers by British manufacturer Lebus has been carefully restored to add a touch of midcentury style to any surrounding. The 6 drawers provide ample storage while the narrow stature enables it to be placed in even the smallest recess.

The exterior has been painted in a lovely khaki shade of green by Mylands paint. The natural wood tone compliments this and the original metal hardware adds a utilitarian feel.

All drawers are clean inside and all run smoothly.

The whole piece has been painted in a beautiful deep charcoal colour by Mylands Paint. The top and legs have been left in the natural rich wood tone which gives the whole piece a beautifully classic style.

It’s a one of a kind antique drinks cabinet. Constructed in this unique curved shape it would command attention and compliment any decor style.

Featuring an upper section with two shelves both lined with a faux velvet lining to prevent clatter of your glassware and a bottom section that is sufficient in size to house even the most prolific sprit collection.

Both areas are accessed but the curved door featuring the original curved glass panel.

The back of the piece has been lined with a fun yet subtle wallpaper featuring flora and fauna. The whole piece has been painted in a true, matt black by Mylands Paint.

Brought back to life with a touch of paint and care this vintage bureau has undergone a transformation bringing it’s style and function right up to date.

It has so much usable storage it’s surprising just how much it can hold.

The walnut veneer drop down hatch reveals a storage area for your small batch spirits or glasses. This does not have the original key so is not lockable but has a replacement to aid opening.

The two drawers are lined with a faux velvet lining and provide space for storing your cocktail accessories and have brass k***s.

The bottom section has the original sliding glass doors with a retro gold stripe. This space is perfect for taller bottles of spirits or additional glassware.

The exterior has been painted in Mylands paint no.10 which is a true matt black which looks great with the walnut wood tones.

How’s this for a transformation?

This fabulous tallboy has all the characteristics of mid century design. Made by British manufacturer Meredew it oozes style and quality with some signature design details, namely the oak handles.

The 5 drawers all run smoothly and all feature the round oak drawer pulls. The top drawer depth measures at 4cm, the others are all 15cm.

Featuring two glazed side cupboards, each with two removable glass shelves perfect for displaying your prized glassware. These areas are lockable and each have their own key. The back has been lined with a gold paper.

Three deep drawers provide storage for all those cocktail hour accessories, whether napkins, corkscrews or just the things you want to hide away. Above this is the important bit - the drop down door reveals a good sized space for storing your spirits and a handy preparation area is sure to wow your guests. This section is lockable and has one key.

This incredible cocktail cabinet by British manufacturer Nathan from their ‘Crest’ range has been fully restored revealing the beautiful tones of the sepia walnut veneer.

Featuring a glass shelved display section for your precious glassware accessed via sliding glass doors plus a spacious cubby for spirits and bottles. This also has a drinks preparation area with a melamine coating to protect from spills.

The lower section features three drawers of increasing depth, the uppermost sectioned and lined with the original felt lining. All run smoothly and have dovetail joints. To the right is a double cupboard with a fixed shelf perfect for additional glassware, bottles or crockery.

The whole piece has been stripped and sanded and sealed with a protective oil to withstand everyday use.

I’ve been a bit neglectful of my Facebook lately.

Here is a piece I finished at the beginning of the month which is off to its new home next week.

It’s an art deco bureau come cocktail cabinet (I couldn’t resist!).

This incredible cocktail cabinet is simply beautiful. In an art deco/art nouveau style it is a true design statement and would command attention in any surrounding. The original varnish has been stripped and a tough top coat applied to reveal and protect these sumptuous walnut wood tones.

With a wealth of storage including two side cupboards, one with a single shelf and the other with two shelves, both are lockable and have a combination of the original and new hardware. Two central drawers are lined with faux velvet, the uppermost is sectioned for easy organisation of cutlery. The central cupboard is large and has ample space for anything from crockery to the most extensive spirit collection. The top sction opens with a cantilever action lifting the mirrored cocktail preperatrion area illuminating it and shocasing the original citrus squeezer and cocktail picks which are a rare find. Replacement antique effect mirror has been added in this section.

This mid century sideboard has no makers mark but is thought to date back to the 1960’s. The walnut veneer has been carefully stripped of the old varnished and rejuvenated with a nourishing protective oil. The frame has been painted in a true black which offsets the wood tones beautifully.
