I had fun planning a little weekend getaway for my family to celebrate my mom’s birthday! Being in Northern California was such a nice change of scenery…I mean just look at this beautiful view during our wine tasting at ! 😍 If you want to explore wineries, but Napa Valley isn’t your scene, I highly recommend Sonoma and Santa Rosa. We loved it! Cheers 🥂 to family time and being triple vaxed!

I finally made it to MoPop! If you love interactive museums, you can’t miss this. We went specifically for the Disney Heroes & Villains costume exhibit which was so good! (Check out the “seattle” highlight on my profile for more). But I really enjoyed the rest of the exhibits we saw like the ones on indie gaming, horror film, fantasy, and Nirvana. Cool stuff! 👾🎸🎬

This is my first time visiting Seattle in the fall, and as a Californian, I love experiencing real seasons! 🍂 At Craven Farm we had hot cider with apple cider donuts, we did some apple slinging, and then spent 45 minutes lost in the corn maze. 🌽 It was awesome! 🥰🎃

Breweries and board games just makes sense! 🍻🎲

Visiting the Gum Wall this year felt a little…icky 🥴😅

15/08/2021

I can’t believe I’ve been back home for two weeks already! 😳 I had an awesome summer in Belize and now I’m planning all the videos I want to post on my YouTube channel. 🤔
I’m thinking about doing a video on traveling during COVID, sharing my thoughts and experience. Do y’all have any questions about COVID travel I can address in that video?❓❓❓
✈️
I’m also wondering what other videos would y’all like to see? I can do travel vlogs, Belize destinations and tours, my 2021 travel essentials…let me know! 😁

Double Post‼️Check out my previous post about visiting the Marie Sharp’s factory in Stann Creek and then I’ll share a little story time:
On one of my last days in Tokyo, we needed to kill time so we ducked into a tiny Irish pub just bc it was open and nearby. The server led us to a table and was probably really confused at our reaction. Because sitting at the booth was none other than this little bottle of Marie Sharps! 🥺 Our favorite Belizean pepper sauce made it all the way across the world and into the Irish-Japanese dive bar we happened into. It felt serendipitous! ✨ But now having learned that Japan is Marie Sharp’s largest international market, it makes a lot more sense! I still feel a special kind of pride for our little Belizean pepper sauce. 🧡

01/08/2021

Even though the factory tour wasn’t running that day, it was ✨so cool✨to visit the Marie Sharps factory!
Mrs. Marie was on business in Mexico, but we met her grandchildren and learned a lot about this incredible woman-owned business. 🌶 Marie Sharps is globally recognized for their delicious carrot-based habanero pepper sauce, but they also sell jams, juices, wine, and more.
It was wild to find out that Marie Sharp’s biggest international market is (you’ll never guess…) 🇯🇵 Japan! 🤯
This mural is painted on a wall of the original factory that the late Mr. Sharp built for his wife. 🤍 Since then, the factory has expanded and is still growing. Which makes sense since every bottle of Marie Sharps sold across the world is produced right here Stann Creek, Belize. 🥕🧅🧄🔥

🙄 My Mom made me take this photo! 🤦🏽‍♀️

🚤 But it actually turned out nice 😅 and it’s the perfect pic to post today bc we’re heading back down South for a few days! 🤪 We’ll be in Stann Creek for the last “vacation” part of our extended trip and I can’t wait to be near the sea again. 🥰💙

25/07/2021

I’m lucky enough to say I’ve done the Shark Ray Alley experience to swim with sharks and stingray a few times before. But the catamaran tour to Hol Chan with was the best snorkeling trip ever!
⛵️
Riding on a catamaran was very smooth and relaxing. 😌 The captain and his crew were so inviting and we even got lunch, drinks, and ceviche aboard. But my favorite part was our guided snorkeling tour where we saw nurse sharks, stingray, barracuda, saltwater piranha, all kinds of beautiful fish and sea creatures. The highlight of the trip was swimming with the turtles 🥺 It was an amazing day at sea! 🐠🐡🦀🐬

24/07/2021

Much needed trip to Caye! 😎 Caye Caulker is split into two parts, literally.
🏝I’ve never stayed on the north side of the split and I thought it might be less enjoyable than the south side that I’m used to. But it ended up being a very peaceful, beachfront stay at . It sits right next to Koko King Beach which was perfect for swimming, relaxing, and rum punch-ing.🍹The hotel even helped us arrange an incredible snorkeling trip via catamaran with .
🐠🐡🦈
Now I think I just might prefer staying on the quieter side of the caye.🤔🌅

1 month in Belize and not missing home at all! 🤪 What’s the longest trip you’ve taken? At over 5 weeks, this is my longest trip yet! But I’ve alway dreamt of full-time travel, so hopefully this is the start of something good. 😌

22/07/2021

Our last few days in Cayo were dedicated to learning Mayan history and exploring ancient cultural sites! 🤓 We got caught in the pouring rain at Cahal Pech and took cover in the “king’s bedroom.” 😳 Then we climbed up this beautiful pyramid at Xunantunich. We even enjoyed a day of zip lining and cave tubing!
🪨 But the highlight of this week was the incredible Actun Tunichil Muknal cave tour! We hiked through the jungle and crossed the river 3 times to get to the mouth of the cave. From there we swam underwater and hiked underground until we got to this grand room covered in stalactites, skeletal remains and Mayan artifacts! 😳 It was one of the top 5 travel experiences I’ve ever had!
💀🏺✨💎🥾

21/07/2021

Maybe it’s the tourist in me, but I absolutely love when I visit a place with one of these name signs! 😭 Like hold on lemme get a pic! 😅📸

20/07/2021

Sea breeze 🌊 , mango mimosas 🥂 , and enjoying a taste of lobster🦞 season in San Pedro! 😋
🛥
We only stayed on San Pedro for about 24 hours to visit family so I’m really looking forward to the couple days in Caye Caulker we have planned later this week. Can you believe we’ve been here 4 weeks today and I’ve only touched this gorgeous sea water once!? 🥲

Let’s take a quick vote 😂 Which thumbnail do y’all like better for today’s video? 🤔
The first pic is the thumbnail I decided to use because I didn’t like the original thumbnail I created, which is on the next slide. 😅
I didn’t take any good photos of myself this first week traveling in Belize City because I was feeling pretty insecure about my skin (see my last post). So the only quality picture I had from this past week was this one grumpy photo my mom took of me. 😤
Anyway! 😮‍💨 I’m very excited to share my first travel vlog since quarantine and *drumroll please* 🥁 my first sponsored video! 🥳

Tomorrow I plan on posting a video I’ve been working toward for months and I’m really proud of it! But I realized I’m actually kind of dreading it. 😕
On the last day of April I got my second shot and since then I’ve been spending a lot more time Outside™️ and masked up. I started getting random breakouts here and there so I figured I’d update my skincare routine. Maybe it’s from masked-up farming under the sun, masked and sweaty workouts , or some of the products I used, but I’ve been battling the worst acne of my life for the past few months. And now in the Belize humidity, where masks are mandatory everywhere but inside your home, my acne got even worse! 😣
I thought I would always be blessed with naturally clear skin, so now that I’m working so hard to take care of it and still so far from where I’d like to be…it’s been rocking my mental health a bit. 🤧
I refuse to use photo editing and try to avoid filters, so it’s been a struggle to feel confident in front of the camera lately. But I tried my best! So in Sunday’s video you’ll see some of the skin journey I’ve been on. 😪
I’m learning a lot and I actually find joy in taking care of myself through my daily skincare routine. Someday I’ll find balance again and my skin will clear up, but right now I’m trying to appreciate the opportunity to find confidence through the struggle. And at the end of the day, I much rather be safe than sorry. 😷

🧡 Someday this will be every day. 💚

Hey friends! I’m a little sad to say that I won’t have a video to share with y’all tomorrow. 💔For the last two months I’ve gotten really serious about my channel and challenged myself to posting weekly videos. When I started this back in February, I never considered myself a video editor and struggled with a ton of creative insecurities. Now, I’m still fighting off the self doubt, but I have 7 new videos and over 200 subscribers to be proud of! 🙏🏽 I’m practicing being gentle with myself through all the learning curves and sometimes that means deciding not to struggle through a video, just to say I uploaded on schedule. 😪 So in hopes of making this one great (and taking care of myself) I’ll post the next Japan travel vlog the following Sunday. Thank you so much for your support and understanding. 🙏🏽Just knowing someone is out there receiving my work means the world to me. ❤️

Hakone was one of my favorite stops on our trip to Japan because we stayed in a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn with tatami mat rooms and private onsen! ♨️
🇯🇵
We learned how to set up the futon on the soft tatami mat floor and actually had the best sleep we got the whole trip! 😅 This place even had us considering throwing out our beds at home!

I want to be more self-sufficient! 💪🏽 In the future, I see myself making my own clothes and growing my own food. 👩🏽‍🌾 So as soon as I first tried fresh aloe vera in my hair overnight as a hair mask and loved it, I bought a big ‘ol plant to grow myself. In today’s video, we’re stepping into those dreams of self-sustainability and making aloe vera gel from my backyard garden! 🌱🌵 Link in bio!

This last vlog is an emotional one. October 2019 was one of the lowest times of my life and my first solo trip was right in the middle of it. It was an amazing experience, but my anxiety got the best of me and I missed my flight home from Peru.
🇵🇪
I stayed up until 4am getting this one right and I’m really proud of it all: this video, this experience and the expensive lesson it turned out to be, and the growth I’ve seen in my YouTube channel since publishing my first Peru travel vlog. Ollantaytambo, Peru Photo Dump!! In celebration of my new Peru 🇵🇪 travel vlog ▶️ up on my channel right now! Link in bio 🙏🏽❤️
A year ago today 😭 I was boarding a plane from San Francisco to Cusco, Peru, traveling alone for the first time. After this trip I could’ve sworn 2020 would be filled with many more international trips. But the universe said 🤚🏽relax. We got travel pics at the house 😔
Take a virtual trip with me to the beautiful ancient Inca town of Ollantaytambo, Peru. After a 1.5 hr colectivo (shared taxi) ride, we’ll drop our bags at the hostel and eat lunch on the balcony at .pe. Without digesting our food at all, we’ll begin the rigorous 30 min climb up Pinkuylluna mountain. At the top, we’ll walk through ruins of Inca storehouses and cry (literally) at its beauty. Once back down, we’ll treat ourselves to ice cream bc we deserved it.

Since I’ve been trying to take better care of my hair, I looked up how to protect it from chlorine in the pool. Apparently wetting your hair in the shower before jumping in limits the amount of pool water it absorbs. Using a protectant, like coconut oil, can also reduce chlorine absorption. I don’t know if both methods are recommended together, but I tried it and my post-swim hair is looking good! 💅🏾 Maybe it’s just me, but does chlorine and saltwater got anybody else’s curls poppin before the wash?
