LOOK | A soldier of the Army’s 94th Infantry Battalion (94IB) was injured while 4 Yunit Militia terrorists were captured in a clash in a hinterland village of Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020.
The wounded soldier, identified as Sgt. Danter Cag-ang, is now in stable condition.
Lt. Col. Angelo Guzman, commander of 94IB, said his men responded to reports of persistent extortion activities in the area in the past week.
“We will hunt these communist-terrorists until all of them are neutralized. They are not allowed to continue sowing fear in the communities,” he added.
The 4 members of the New People’s Army Yunit Militia, identified as Francisco Verde, Ronald Pacheco, Gene Boy Verde and Jovel Pacheco were captured by Army troops after the clash. The suspects yielded their weapons and are now in the custody of Himamaylan City Police Station. They were charged with violation of the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act in relation to the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.
