"Just because I don't cook doesn't mean I can't cook." I stopped cooking several years ago, but my financial situation changed significantly enough that now i pretty much must cook. Today's menu is chicken and rice casserole with mashed sweet potatoes. Most items from a food bank. Others donated by a close friend. You know who you are. What's for breakfast on this cold morning? It's 27° in my area. French toast! 3 slices of stale sourdough bread 2 beaten med eggs Small unmeasured amount of milk ... add to egg mixture with 1 Tbsp cinnamon Less than a Tbsp of butter (for the pan) And of course... syrup. So yummy and affordable. #foodbankmeals #mealsonabudget #budgettips #foodpantry #BudgetFriendly #cookingathome #budgetmeals Follow me for more budget and cooking adventures.
Garlic butter shrimp with pasta and cheddar garlic biscuits. I wasn't sure how this would turn out. It's OK. Next time I would like it to be a little creamier. Not quite enough garlic. The biscuits are 💯 % delicious. All but one item were purchased. Only the shrimp came from the SOS food bank.
I love me some PBJ. This Pampa brand fruit spread is budget friendly and Sandra approved. I've only tried the grape, but wanted to share a picture of strawberry as well. A bit sweeter than Welch's but still pretty good. These can be purchased at Dollar Tree for $1.25 each. I received mine for free from a local church food bank. Disclosure: I am not compensated for my opinion of any product I try and review. Texture ✅️ Price ✅️ Taste ✅️
I returned a toaster that was pretty much garbage to Amazon and replaced it with a better brand at kohl's for less money. With my Amazon refund I bought this 10" skillet. My 2 smaller skillets had been burned to h.e.l.l. by my ex so they were thrown out. Slowly replacing thing that were destroyed or taken by him. Anyway I'm looking forward to trying this out. 🙂
I've owned this pressure cooker for over 2 years. It was my 20 year anniversary gift selection from my previous job. I just took it out of the box last weekend. After watching a few videos I'm finally going to get some use from it. Chicken legs with seasonings and maybe brush with bbq sauce after they come out. Hoping for a yummy meal.
My second thrift flip of the long weekend. A Goodwill find altered with new (tighter) elastic and a more modern waistline design.
