This one took a lot of control…I mean math (see last post) 🤪 I can’t wait to see it hanging !
What is your fav part of making something? I think mine is the planning! 😬 I’m not sure if it is because it speaks to my math brain or because it gives me control. And now I’m wondering if I need to take a minute to have that psychoanalyzed. Maybe it’s a toxic trait….Oh no. 😂 Anyway, I have always loved math and sewing can be a lot of math and I love it. It’s the math part. That’s all it is. Math. I love math! 🤪
I am a little obsessed with these stripes I sewed. Now to turn them into something even more.
Usually my test word for a new technique is “dope” but I have really felt the need for a primal scream lately and this technique felt appropriate for the sentiment. Padded room anyone? Should I turn this into a pillow that I scream into when things become too much?
I may not have gotten my steps in the last many hours of this project but I sure did get some stretching in.
Trying to finish this commission and he is all up in it. Gah!!
Going big is a whole new world. Working on a commission that is taking me to new places. Almost done!

With Due South being themes “Strings Attached” I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by to represent three of my favorite local guitarists…Austin, Linsey and John of Each guitar background is made using repurposed materials that evoke that front porch sitting life…Work shirts, sheets, vintage fabric, etc.

This is the biggest thing I have ever made. 😳
I’m just over sewing letters for dayssss.
I had a student who named this the Grim Reaper and I have never felt that name as much as I did seeing STRUM. These letters nearly killed me. I have haven’t seam ripped this much since my beginning years of sewing.
Getting there! One day I’ll have less WIPs and more finished pieces. One day!

I am so close to being done with moving my studio into my home but I got stuck looking through my recent journals and sketchbooks. Do you skip around or stay true to one type of journal/sketchbook? The only one I ever felt like I could go to over and over was discontinued. I bought everyone one I could find at the time but since I used those up…I skip around as you can see.
Fight Like a Girl. Fight…but be sweet about it!
