๐ And a massive well done to everyone who braved the elements, came out tonight, and gave it their all.

Our care-experienced children and young people deserve far better than this.

Three male youths, aged 16, 15 and 14 have been arrested and charged in connection with the assault of a 17-year-old man in Dunfermline.
The incident happened around 5.30pm on Tuesday, 2 January, 2024, following the Dunfermline Athletic and Raith Rovers football match.
Three males aged 17, 15 and 20, were previously arrested and charged in connection.
They have been released on an undertaking to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court at a later date.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Today, I wrote to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice to relay my serious concerns regarding last nights attack on a local teenager๐
Local residents deserve to feel safe both inside and outside of their homes, the epidemic of anti-social behaviour must stop.
I am concerned at the various reports that yesterday, a boy with disabilities was badly beaten at a bus stop in Dunfermline.
This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable and has no place in our communities.
I will be looking into this further.
If anyone wishes to contact me about this, please email [email protected]
I want to thank all of the NHS and emergency services workers in Mid-Scotland and Fife and across Scotland, who are working hard during the festive period to keep us safe.
I hope everyone has a peaceful and merry Christmas ๐
Christmas treat for Cowdenbeath OAPs ELDERLY residents in Cowdenbeath enjoyed some festive fun at a special Christmas party put on by the town's community council.

Kirkcaldy Recycling Centre โ (nearest recycling centre open is Glenrothes)

It was great to meet with the Scottish Grocers' Federation (SGF) today at Holyrood ๐๏ธ
We discussed the ways they are working to reduce smoking and alcohol harm and support local business throughout the cost-of-living situation.
The SNP have slashed college and university funding in their latest budget.
This will negatively impact young people and their futures. It is totally unacceptable.
Scottish Budget: Colleges and universities face fresh cuts as their budgets are slashed by more than ยฃ100m Sector leader warns of โinescapably hard choicesโ ahead under SNP-Green spending plans
As a result of SNP budget cuts, police buildings are under threat.๐
Including both Oakley and Burntisland Police Station. This is unacceptable and would only lead to more incidents of criminality.
Today, I wrote to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice to voice my concern over the potential closure of Oakley and Burntisland Police Stations๐
Local constituents want their police stations to remain open, and they will always have my full support.
Recycling Point - Foulford Place, Cowdenbeath.
Following 34 instances of contaminated glass bins since the end of January, Cireco (who manage recycling points and centres on behalf of FC) have replaced the bins with a large enclosed mixed glass skip.
Any colour of glass can simply be placed into the skip at the slots on the side.
However, although this is a positive move, I am not naive enough to think this will address the issue of dumping and contamination of the other bins, as clearly shown in my photo from this morning.
I will never accept any excuse for flytipping, dumping or contaminating bins with the wrong type of waste, however, more needs to be done to tackle this scourge and discourage those from doing so in the first place.
It is simply not fair on those of us who to recycle our excess waste and want to do so locally, efficiently, and responsibly.
It is obvious the current approach is not working as it should and I will consult my fellow local Councillors and Council Officers after the new year with a view of reviewing the policies and challenges, and to establish what we can do better to manage and support the service and local residents.

๐Nicola and her staff brought the Townhill Out of School Club children for a visit with Santa and Gavin the magical elf last night. Lots of fun and laughter ensued. Lovely, well-behaved children with great questions for Santa and Gavin. Each child told Santa how kind and how good they had been this year. ๐๐

It is deeply troubling that drug deaths are on the rise in Scotland.
I would urge the SNP Scottish Government to back the Scottish Conservatives โRight to Recoveryโ bill immediately.

I hadn't been to the Museum Car Park for a few weeks, but was surprised to see that seaweed which had blown on during Storm Babet is still there. I'll be contacting Fife Council Officers on Monday to try and get this mess cleared
