Feeding Program, isinagawa sa PED

Nagkaroon ng feeding program para sa mga mag-aaral ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Dunglayan (PED) na handog nina G. Aaron at Gng Russel Gillespie, Pebrero 6.

Ang nasabing gawain ay sinimulan ng isang panalangin na pinangunahan ni Gng. Gemma Ea, Daycare Teacher.

Bago sinimulan ang pagbibigay ng miryenda sa mga bata ay nagpasalamat muna ang paaralan sa mga naghandog ng kanilang biyaya sa pamamagitan ng paggawad ng sertipiko ng pasasalamat sa pangunguna ni Gng. Jocelyn Bisaya, Acting Head Teacher at tinanggap ito ng kanilang nanay na si Gng. Nida.

Ayon sa pamunuan ng paaralan, pangalawang beses ng isinagawa ng mag-asawang Gillespie ang nasabing feeding program sa PED ngayong taon.

Dr. Honeylet C. Zamora, SEPS-HRD of SDO of Ilocos Sur came back in her former school not to regain her position as officer-in-charge but as a representative to monitor the Second Periodical Examinations in Santa Maria District.

CATCH-UP FRIDAYS: "Read to Succeed"

Dunglayan ES is committed to serve our learners in terms of their holistic development. Reading is one of the fundamental skills to be developed in them.

Our school-based program on catch-up fridays happened right after the flag ceremony. Jocelyn Bisaya, acting head teacher, opened the program with her message emphasizing the importance of reading. Arlene Cacas, focal person, briefed our learners on today's affair. John Carlo Ea, grade 5, read a Bible story in front of his schoolmates and followed by question and answer portion to test their comprehension. The program was concluded by a simultaneous silent reading wherein each of the learner should choose a story book then after reading, some learners will be called to share what they have read.

Drop Everything and Read: DepEd launches 'Catch-up Fridays'

As stated in the DepEd Memorandum 001 s. 2024, that the “Catch Up Fridays” program is an initiative designed to strengthen foundational, social and other relevant skills necessary to actualize the intent of the basic education curriculum by focusing on the development of learners' reading, critical thinking, analytical and writing skills.
