The purpose of AKSUS is to promote, advance, and educate its members and the medical community in the science of diagnostic medical sonography.

Planning is underway for the Alaska Medical Imaging Conference 2024 this April, so save the date!!

We are offering discounted room rates at the Marriot Hotel in downtown Anchorage as well as discounted flights for those joining us from around the state.

The Alaska State Ultrasound Society is holding a seminar on Saturday, October 14th with 6 CMEs available. All are welcome and classes will be held via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.

UAA Diagnostic Medical Sonography students are looking for pregnant volunteers again!! This is a FREE ultrasound and we will also be giving out lots of pictures!! 🤗

All volunteers must be at least 20 weeks along, had a normal anatomy scan done, and have your Obstetrician sign our consent form in order to be qualified to participate.

Please email Christina Pearson (Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator) at [email protected] with your name, current gestational age, and the date your anatomy scan was performed to receive the Patient Volunteer and Physician consent form.

We will be holding our last two sessions in July!! The first session will be Saturday, July 8th from 9am-5pm, and the second session will be Tuesday, July 11th from 11am-4pm.

Echo Alaska: Echo, Cardiac CT & MRI | Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular CME Course | Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular Education 19/05/2023

Great opportunity for Sonographers and other Cardiac Imagining modalities!!

Mayo Clinic will be presenting Echo Alaska: Frontiers of Multimodality Imaging Including Echo, Cardiac CT and MRI. This will be an in-person and livestream symposium July 24-28th at the Marriott Anchorage Downtown!!

This symposium will be worth 22.0 CME credits for attendance. Integration of Echo, CT, and MRI and their incremental value in clinical cardiology will be highlighted. An additional focus will be on the role of 2-D and 3-D echocardiography in guiding interventional therapies.

The price for the symposium is $675 if you register by June 10th, and $775 after June 10th. Mayo Clinic is offering three registration scholarships to those interested. Fellows, trainees, sonographers, and students are all welcome to apply. Those selected will have their registration fees covered and will be announced at the end of May. The application deadline is this upcoming Monday, May 22nd.

UAA Diagnostic Medical Sonography students are looking for pregnant volunteers who would be willing to come in for a FREE ultrasound! We will also be giving out pictures!! 🤗

All volunteers must have had a normal anatomy scan performed to be qualified to participate.

~The Alaska Medical Imaging Conference 2024 will be at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage on April 19 & 20, 2024.
This is a joint effort of Alaska's two medical imaging societies AKSUS & AKSRT.
