Weight Talk

Welcome to my life. It has its ups and downs like everyone else but the struggle, it's real. Weight

20/06/2023

Hey Y'all 👋 it's been a hot minute since I've connected with yous. Let's start this off with "I have not given up" but have let myself go again to the point I'm back at 280 lbs.

I saw the weight creeping back on since last year October and I kept giving myself hall passes to binge eat. I knew what I was doing but for some reason, I couldn't stop because of the comfort it gave me.

Fast forward to now, my back and legs hurt, I can barely sleep good and I'm stressed out because of what I done to myself when I knew better. So, yesterday I took a stand. I reached out for help.

I signed up with a Fitness Coach and am going to use her App for the next 30 days to get back on track, regain my focus and give 2023 all I've got. It's never to late, right?

Wishing you all strength 💪 we're all in this together. Let's get it 🙌

03/01/2023

Ok y'all! How did you end your 2022? Well, I ended up with a 20+ weight gain. Not how I wanted to end my year but 2023 seems promising. It's a start to the new year with new goals, etc. I hit the gym yesterday and woke up to 5 pounds down!!

If any of you are struggling, know that it's going to be ok and it's just a season that we need to take day by day with kindness. You've got this. We've got this. Let's hit 2023 with all we've got.

Much love,

Ang ♥

I've gained 10 pounds y'all and I'm back at 260! Anytime I get a health scare, I freak out and start eating my emotions away. It's wrong, I know and should have better control but I don't. So, here I am being real, raw and transparent as possible. No matter what, I'm going to fight through this the best I can. The struggle is real!

Went to do a BP check yesterday and it led to an emergency EKG. I'm scared for my life and mad at myself for not taking my health seriously. Tomorrow, I turn 44 and I don't even want to celebrate. Just want to be alone. Def have some serious changes to make. Please don't end up in my shoes, take care of yourselves ♥

Your girl is grinding hard over here, I have to. I lost 4 pounds in one day. I'm back to 255 🙌

Been yoyoing for almost 2 months with my weight. Gaining 10 pounds, losing 5 and back on repeat.

So tired of doing this to my body 😩 the struggle is real! No matter what, I'm gonna keep on grinding 💪 life is never meant to be easy, right?

12/05/2022

Y'all, I gained 7 pounds!! Being in a new relationship does that to us though 😁 I'm determined to get it off for sure. Went to the gym and did 30 mins of spin cycling 💪

I think I like Torrid active wear better than Old Navy (pictured here) 😆 My butt in the front cracks me up and keeps me humble at the same time. No matter what, I still see a difference compared to when I was at my heaviest weight of 330 lbs.

Okay, gang! I've been following a 1200 calorie deficit. I use the Bariatric model although I'm no longer looking into Weight Loss Surgery. It has helped jump start my weight loss journey after becoming stagnant for some time. Do I struggle? Yes, I actually do. It's a hard regimen to follow and feel like I'm starving which makes me cave at times - lately it's been daily. Definitely gonna get back on track as best I can. I watch my sugars and try to stay away from the sweets even though that's been my main struggle and I don't use salt on my foods. I use Sugar Free bbq sauce or low sodium dressings but sparingly. For a coated chicken dish, I use almond flour mixed with parmesan cheese but on RARE occasions. For pasta, I use black been noodles or noodles from palm. Also, I exercise 5-6 days a week, 30-60 mins at a time. Only drink H2O or vitamin water w/Zero Sugar.

Below is what I follow.

Breakfast:

2 Proteins (two egg whites & 1 oz of mozz or provolone cheese)
1 Starch (one 25 calorie corn tortilla or 1/2 cooked oatmeal w/1 stevia)
1 Dairy (one cup FairLife 2% milk or 6 oz Zero Sugar Yogurt)
1 fruit (1 cup mixed fresh berries or 1/2 applesauce)
1 Fat (1/2 teaspoon olive oil, 16 almonds or nuts or 1/2 teaspoon of butter unsalted, 1/8 avocado)

Lunch (no dairy):

3 Proteins (3 oz chicken breast, thigh, leg (daily) or steak/pork but only 2 times a week)
2 vegetables (1 cup cooked broccoli or zucchini or 2 cups mixed salad)
1 starch (1/3 cup brown or basmati rice, 1/2 baked potato/sweet potato or 1/2 cup beans)
1 fruit (one cup watermelon, 1 apple or 1/2 cup applesauce
1 Fat (1/2 teaspoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon butter or 16 nuts, 1/8 of avocado)

Dinner (no fruit):

3 proteins (3 oz chicken breast, thigh, leg (daily) or steak/pork but only 2 times a week)
1 Starch (1/3 cup brown or basmati rice, 1/2 baked potato/sweet potato or 1/2 cup beans)
2 Vegetables (1 cup cooked broccoli or zucchini or 2 cups mixed salad)
1 Dairy 1 Dairy (one cup FairLife 2% milk or 6 oz Zero Sugar Yogurt)
1 Fat (1/2 teaspoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon butter unsalted or 16 nuts almonds, etc., 1/8 of avocado)

Hello Weight Talk family and friends ♥ For the past few weeks, I've been going through so much and had to make some serious lifestyle changes.

On Jan 13th, I had a fabulously high blood pressure reading of 184/83. Believe me, that scared me but thought it was only elevated because I was at the Dentist.

Fast forward to Jan 24th, chest and back pain issues prompted me to go to the ER. Again, my BP elevated even higher to 205/90. I was so scared, actually beyond scared and had to do a CT Scan to make sure I didn't have any blood clots in my system.

The CT Scan later revealed a quarter size mass at the end of my esophagus and a small mass around my thyroid but no blood clots (thank God). I had a lung biopsy done last week for the mass on my esophagus and am awaiting the results. Ultrasound is scheduled this month for the thyroid mass (keep me in prayer for both).

Since finding out about the masses and my BP readings, I'm now on BP medication and have changed my diet significantly. I've eliminated salt and sugar from my eating and dropped 20 pounds in the matter of 2 weeks. I'm now 258.

Today I had a BP reading of 139/87 which means the meds are working and so are my lifestyle changes. Although it's a work in progress, I'm doing it and HIGHLY encourage y'all to be good to your bodies and health. YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN THIS POSITION. Take action now!

Exercise 150 mins a week and lower your salt and sugar intake to 1500 mg (salt) if you have Hypertension or are at risk (processed foods are a no go). Follow the DASH Diet to the best of your ability. Drink nothing but water or infused water/seltzers.

As always, be kind and love yourself. All you've got is you ♥

Definitely some good news for today 🙌

20/01/2022

So, the gastric question popped up during my blood pressure appointment at Kaiser today. Although the Dr put in a referral for it, there's a part of me that wants to do it while the other part of me is on the fence about it.

I know many people who've had it done without any complications while others are facing them on the daily. That part scares me! By the way, my blood pressure has been high lately, higher than what I'm used to seeing.

It came in at 150/67 today. Last week it was 181/112 which was taken with a wrist bracelet by the Dental Office. At this point, I'm scared to death and getting anxiety over it tremendously.

I've been working out faithfully since last year June and have been laying off the salt since last week. Was 278 pounds and now am 273 - all in one week.

What are your thoughts on the gastric y'all?

Logged in 8 miles today for a total of 71/200. I'm almost there y'all. The 200 mile bike challenge is really making a difference to the point, I put on a size 20 pair of Jeggings from Torrid and they are a little lose on me. Time to see if an 18 fits. Woot! Woot! Who else has a win to share today?

Woke up feeling better about myself today despite my anxiety. Does anyone else suffer from panic/anxiety attacks? Believe it or not, I get them frequently but know how to manage.

There are times where I have to question why I am getting these. Sometimes, when I lose weight, my body feels weird and jittery. That's when they happen. Scares me when they do but can easily recover from it once recognized.

However, days like today when I'm feeling better, it's still there. I don't wish this on anyone and if you know someone who suffers from anxiety/panic attacks, be a friend and try to distract them with different topics of conversation.

It'll help them recover because they'll be focusing on the topics you're speaking of versus their anxiety. It's what I do for my kids when they experience episodes like I do. They always thank me for it later ♥ Ang
