Representative Amy Roeder

How wonderful it was to run into Noam Osher, Zivi Osher and Nathan Manaker at the State House! These Penobscot Theatre Company Dramatic Academy Program alums worked with me in directing our Addams Family show in 2017 (see the fun photo below)! Today, they performed a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. đź‘Ź
Another storm is expected to hit Maine tonight and into tomorrow, bringing heavy rain and high winds that could cause flooding and power outages.

“Bangor friends without power: Please report your outage again to Versant at 207-973-2000. They just took a bunch of outages off their work list... When I called, the agent said we had had our power restored when we hadn't. Same with many neighbors.”
If you’re still without power, call Versant to check the status of your outage report. And when you see a lineman, thank them for their hard work!

This year, the Legislature took major steps forward to address the challenges facing education in Maine – working to provide school districts, teachers and staff the support and resources they need to meet students' needs.
I’m proud to receive a 100% rating from the Maine Education Association for my voting record last session.
Throughout the last year, as many of you know we are facing a current staffing crisis. Currently down 13 positions. Nearly a entire crew. During the last year many members have worked thousands of hours in overtime. Many sacrificing family time to fill vacancies providing minimum staffing levels to keep our Bangor citizens and each other safe. Todays “motley crew” is filled mostly with officers. Nearly a 1 officer to 1 private ratio. If you see Rescue 1 out and about make sure to wave. It’s staffed with a Captain/Paramedic and a Lieutenant/Paramedic!
I’m at the Council of State Governments’ national conference and found the following information quite revealing. Public opinion seems to favor the idea that crime in Maine has increased, that our cities have become more violent, that our lives and property are more at risk than in years past. Data shows that the opposite is true.
We must continue to work toward making our state safer, but it’s important to acknowledge that we’re already moving in the right direction.
Wishing all who are celebrating a safe and happy Hanukkah!
I am delighted to be a Henry Toll fellow and to graduate with my colleagues: Reps Salisbury, Stover and Supica. We are honored to join the rest of the Toll alumni (like Rep Gramlich who is here to present a panel on PFAS) and to be here to celebrate the Council of State Governments’ 20 under 40 award winners such as Maine’s own Rep Rana.
The Toll fellows program is a bipartisan training program for leadership development and I got to learn with and from some exceptional people from across the country. My cohort began as strangers and are now my beloved friends. I am deeply grateful to stand alongside these exceptional leaders.
Press Release sent to all Maine Media tonight:
FAMILY OF GRAHAM LACHER DOUBLES REWARD
The family of 39-year-old Waldo County man Graham Lacher, missing since June 6, 2022, when he fled the grounds of the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center in Bangor, has doubled the reward amount for his safe return from $5,000 to $10,000. Lacher is diagnosed autistic and schizophrenic and is the subject of a state-issued Silver Alert.
Despite not having a confirmed sighting of Lacher in 18 months, “We continue to hope my son has survived,” says his mother, Tammy Lacher Scully of Belfast. “And with the coldest days of winter ahead of us, we are especially concerned about his safety. We believe he’s been seen,” Scully says, “but not recognized as a missing, vulnerable adult in need of medical attention. Everywhere we go in our search for Graham, we encounter more people who are not aware of his disappearance than who know about it. This tells us we need to do more to get the word out; hopefully, increasing the reward will help us do that.”
According to Scully, the family was offered “a substantial, new donation from a family friend, so we decided to match that and double the reward.” Full details of the reward’s terms and conditions can be found on the page Missing Graham Lacher.
Anyone with information about Lacher’s whereabouts can contact the family via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/missinggrahamlacher or call Bangor Police Dept. Det. Jordan Perry at (207) 947-7384. Lacher’s Missing Person NCIC number is M396825302.

We will miss Rep. Reckitt immensely. I’d venture to say that we already do. Her service today was deeply moving and a powerful reminder of what one person can accomplish in a lifetime……if you’re Lois, that is. She was a superhero to me. Her loss is profound and her memory an incomparable blessing.
