U18 champion lilly and runners up Roxie
Love how these two are so close off the table and on the table they have the most utmost respect for each other.

Sisters from different parents is what they have become with the love of cue sports

First 2 days of our 10 day trip for 8 ball and snooker state trials and titles...

Roxie this weekend played in u15 opens and u18 girls for 8 ball...

Day one in her words was a shocker as a mum and a definitely lesser player then her I thought she played well but little mistakes costed her..

Day 2 she came out firing she only lost 4 matches all day but the field was one of the toughest I have seen over the years... unfortunately for rox she missed out by one match to go into the finals and for her chance to represent QLD again.

As your mum I could not be more prouder of you though - you showed respect for your opponents and supported both of your closest friends from our area when they made the finals rounds.

You have grown so much as a person and a player over these 2 days then I ever expected.

As they say on wards and upwards..
You have 2 days of rest and practise before you start your state trials for billiards and snooker.

Thank you to the people that truelly support Roxie in her cue sports journey and watch her games.

Now for some much needed sleep and rest

It has been a while since l have done any updates - life carries us away at times....
So this week end Rox played in the Jack Lewis Memorial Shield. Very proud of her efforts she got in the top 4 of her group which meant she was playing in the top half for the finals, along with her dad sadly for me l was definitely in the the bottom half ROFL.

Unfortunately for all of us though we got knocked out in our first round in the finals - balls just were not going our way as they say.... I can put all the excuses for us all but the fact is none are reasonable.
Roxie had a really good chat with someone that has represented for many years and l can't thank him enough as l know l got a lot from it and l am sure she did to....

The next few weeks are going to be crazy and a lot of updates. In 2 weeks we are off to Ipswich for State Trials for 8 ball, then 3 days later a week of state trials for snooker.

In between all this Rox is also playing in our handicapped singles league that she has put some high expectations on herself which l am sure she can achieve if she puts her head down.

Then she is off to her first snooker event without me in Sydney which l am sure she will cope fine but mum might have some anxiety hehehe, to come home and play in the CQ vs SEQ challenge.

so, stay tuned for all the updates over the coming weeks and live streaming if we are able to.

Well another event done and dusted...
This was roxies first womens national ranked event and she missed out into the quater finals by 1 frame....the positive thing is that she knows what she has to do when we get home on the table to make the adjustments needed.

Overall this was a great event and as usual all the women are amazing. She has learnt alot on and off the table. Always good to catch up with women that you only see every few months or once a year and to see and hear how things are going and meet new women that love the sport.

We left Albury today and are currently at the airport motel ready for our early start tomorrow and the final trip home.

We are very excited and proud of Lilly Meldrum who now holds the Australian Women's title, never doubted her at all in our minds, such a huge achievement.

Looking forward to getting home and some normality for a while...
