12 Ways to Finally Stop Chronic Procrastination 18/01/2021

One of my personal goals for 2021 is to learn how to better manage my adult ADHD. Since my diagnosis a couple of years ago I've realized that many of the medications commonly used to treat the disorder just aren't for me as they cause my already weak appetite to become non-existent. I often flip back and forth between feeling a sense of pride at how much I've been able to accomplish knowing that I'm functioning at, at best, 40% of my potential, and being extremely frustrated at what I could accomplish if I lived with a non-ADHD brain.

For anyone living with the same struggle, here's a link to one of the better resources I've come across.

Also, before anyone feels the need to comment with some variation of, "it's all in your head!":

1) I, along with everyone else living with ADHD, knows this.
2) Being reminded of this is not remotely helpful.

A long-term-care PSW needs to work 50 hours a week or more to afford the cost of living in Toronto. A look at the numbers 16/01/2021

PSW's have proven to be some of the most valuable members of our workforce during this pandemic. The fact that many have to work 50+ hours in order to make a livable wage is beyond ridiculous. No employer should be allowed to pay an employee less than a living wage for work that is essential to the success of that business. Period.

A long-term-care PSW needs to work 50 hours a week or more to afford the cost of living in Toronto. A look at the numbers After tax and deductions, PSWs working in long-term care are short over $10,000 of what it costs to live in Toronto.

Well, the plumber’s a professional. People have to swallow their pride and just call the plumber first. I wasn’t trained at fixing it, but I thought I could.”

Delivery day!

Today we'll be delivering gifts to some of the long-term care homes in Ottawa. Altogether we raised $1665.00 towards the initiative! Due to COVID (and budget) restrictions, we were not able to donate to each and every LTC in the city. However, I'm sure the residents of St. Patrick's Home, Grace Manor, Laurier Manor, and Elisabeth Bruyere Residence will enjoy their gifts! Thanks again to all those who donated and made this fundraiser possible. Looking forward to using this platform for more fundraising initiatives in the new year.

Hey folks, just wanted to give a little update on our campaign to raise money to buy gifts for long-term care residents here in Ottawa this holiday season. So far we've raised $1425. Thank you so much to all those who have donated so far. Your money will go towards buying LTC residents items such as art supplies, adult colouring books, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, toiletries, etc.

If you are still thinking about donating, I would encourage you to do so sooner rather than later as I plan to begin purchasing items (particularly those being bought online) within the next day or two in order to ensure their timely arrival.

Cheers!
