I talked about the golden hour and its importance in a photographic composition. But how do you spot a crazy perfect sunset?
According to NOAA, the best sunsets are typically seen in skies with high and mid-level clouds such as altocumulus and cirrus clouds. Low-lying clouds, such as stratus and stratocumulus clouds, on the other hand, rarely produce unforgettable sunsets.
What are you waiting for?
Iceland, the world's greenest country, is well known for its renewable energy program, which provides clean electricity and hot water to nearly every resident. Interestingly, according to IceNews, Iceland is also one of the happiest countries in the world.
I think it's because Icelanders are living life slowly, they are minimalists, they read and travel a lot, oh yeah, and the swimming, they swim all year round.
P.S. This one was digitally showcased in the "Art of Photography" exhibition Galleri, in Stockholm, Sweden.
When you use reflective surfaces to create an artistic echo of a scene, you use reflection photography, also known as mirror photography.
This type of photography can add an exciting twist to popular locations like oceans, lakes, puddles, and even raindrops.
An image can be transformed into a work of art using water, windows, mirrors, or other reflective surfaces.
The wonderful thing about using reflections in photographs is that they can completely transform the image from something simple to more decadent, abstract, or otherwise more artistic.
It is the hour when the sun rises and when it sets. Before the sun rises/sets, it emits this hazy light that enhances the beauty of everything. Most photographers agree that this is THE best time of day to photograph. The name "Magic Hour" is very accurate.
Another Tip: Golden Hour magically removes blemishes from portraits.
The soft, diffused light blurs flaws and even adds the finishing touch of a glowing tan. Furthermore, it can aid in the elicitation of emotions. The Golden Hour sun, when used as a dreamy backlight, can evoke nostalgia, happiness, and a sense of youth.

Geysir Hot Spring Area is a popular tourist destination in Iceland, and the geothermal field is estimated to have a surface area of 3 km2. The majority of the springs are aligned along a 100m wide strip of land that runs in the same direction as the area's tectonic lines, from south to southwest.
The temperature of the hot springs ranges between 80 and 100 degrees Celsius, but it can reach 240 degrees Celsius beneath the surface, so be careful!
Professional photographers seek out the last hour before sunset and the first hour after sunrise.
These times, known as "the golden hour" or "magic hour," provide the ideal light for taking stunning photographs.
This golden hour window, which occurs in the morning and evening when the sun is at a low angle, provides photographers with a magical quality of light that makes their photographs pop.
The golden hour's soft, warm, directional light makes it easier to shoot than the harsh light of the midday sun. Professional photographers and beginners alike prefer to shoot during the golden hours because it is easier to work with.
Because the sun is lower in the sky during golden hours, it takes on a distinctive appearance.
I don't want to brag, but this one was part of multiple digital exhibitions like: "My Exhibition Shot" at Laurent Gallery in Melbourne, Australia, or 'Your Perfect Shot" exhibition at Blank Wall Gallery, in Athens, Greece;
The advice of the day? Let this sunset inspire you!
A guide once told me what he called "The black history of Icelandic horses."
Don't get me wrong, Icelanders are so proud of their pure breed horses, and they do seem to be the happiest animals in the world.
But, back in the day, before the twentieth century, Icelandic horses were exported to the United Kingdom to work as pit ponies. Icelandic horses were first officially exported to Germany in the 1940s.
Today, the Icelandic is the only horse breed present in Iceland and is known for its bloodline purity.
Taking self-portraits means self-discovery and courage. The good news? You get to know your angles, the form of your shape, the tones, and the subtones of your skin, and this, my friend, is precious information.
Being able to capture the best side of you is a skill that will give you the self-understanding and love you aim for from others.
When was the last time you really paid attention to your body, to your face?
Leading lines are lines in a photograph that have been framed and positioned by the photographer to direct the viewer's attention to a specific point of interest.
These lines frequently direct the viewer's attention in a specific direction or to a particular photograph area.
Leading lines are essential to use because they aid in the creation of a flow within your composition. The more easily a viewer can look at your image, the better, and leading lines naturally guide the viewer around the image.
This, in turn, keeps them interested and wanting to look at the image for a more extended period. And in this fast-paced Instagram photography world, that can only be a good thing!
Harpa is Icelandic for "harp." It is also the name for the first month of spring in Icelandic.
The main idea behind the facade concept, according to Henning Larsen, was to rethink the building as a static unit, allowing it to respond dynamically to the changing colors of the surroundings.
This building hosts opera performances, concerts, and other events. Is an icon of Icelandic architecture and was awarded the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture in 2013. (Mies van der Rohe Award).
Discovering new shapes, colors, dynamic range, distortions, and possibly a combination of all of these is what creative photography is all about.
Creative photography can inspire you to create stunning imagery, and it will assist you in progressing to the next level.
Meet my friend, Bibi! She's just the best! She always believed me and supported me without any questions asked.
If I ever want an accurate opinion about something, I can ask her because she's so mean and lovely, and I am sure that she will give me constructive feedback in the most amusing way possible.
Be like Bibi and support your friends no matter how stupid or fearless their ideas appear!
You have several options if you want to try macro photography without purchasing a macro lens, including close-up filters, reversal rings, and extension tubes.
They each get you up close and personal with your existing lenses, producing similar—though visually distinct—results.
Close-up filters, like filters, screw onto the front of your lens. They are typically sold in sets of two or three different magnifications and come in various strengths.
The final image is also affected by the quality of the glass, lens coatings, and manufacturing protocols.
What's your favorite type of photography?
Reynisfjara has been named one of the world's most beautiful beaches, but it is also one of Iceland's most dangerous tourist destinations.
Four people have drowned at the beach in the last ten years after being knocked down by powerful sneaker waves that swept them out to sea.
Need some advice about visiting Icelandic beaches?
🌊 Do not go swimming in the water.
🌊 Never turn your back on the sea or the waves.
🌊 Allowing children to roam the beach unsupervised is not a good idea.
🌊 Climbing on icebergs or mounds is not permitted because it's hazardous.
Besides that, breathe in and breathe out. This is one of the most beautiful things that nature can give.
Because of a long-held legend, Barnafoss translates as "the Children's Falls." A family of two boys lived on the nearby farm of Hraunsás in Iceland's early days. Tragically, neither boy made it across the bridge, and both died.
Of course, it's also possible that, like many Icelandic stories, it was made up to ensure that young children respected their parents and feared the country's unpredictability.
Anyhow, this place is one of the most amazing places I have ever seen in my entire human life!
Minimalism emerged in the late 1950s, when artists such as Frank Stella, whose Black Paintings were shown at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1959, began to reject the gestural art of the previous generation.
Minimalist photography is all about simplifying a scene so that only the most critical elements are included within the frame.
The key to creating amazing minimalist photos is simplicity. With this type of photography, less is more.
What are the hallmarks of minimalism?
✔️ Patterns and textures that are flat rather than skeuomorphic.
✔️ Utilization of a limited or monochromatic color palette.
✔️ Features and graphic elements are strictly limited.
✔️ Negative space was maximized.
Photography not only allows you to express yourself, but it also helps you focus on positive life experiences, boosts your self-esteem, and even lowers the stress hormone cortisol.
Being a shutterbug, it turns out, gives you a unique perspective in more ways than one.
Photography has several therapeutic benefits related to our mental health because it allows us to express our creativity, detach from otherworldly responsibilities, and improve our mood.
Mindful photography (also known as contemplative or slow photography) is the polar opposite of mainstream competitive photography. There is no aggression, no one-upmanship, no kit discussion, no condescension, and, most importantly, no rush.
I guess what I am trying to say is, go out and take some amazing pics!
Aside from being a beautiful black sand beach in Iceland, there are some unique features about the location that make it a one-of-a-kind experience, even in a country as amazing as Iceland.
For one thing, there is no land between you and Antarctica if you sit on a beach and look south. That's a lot to think about when you're standing on the edge of a tiny island in the North Atlantic.
In recent years, the beach has grown in popularity is also close to the stunning Reynisdrangar basalt stacks (similar to Northern Ireland's Giant's Causeway).
Remember that nature is more powerful than you are, no matter how powerful you are, and watch your step while visiting Icelandic beaches. Yeah, it's true! In the last ten years, there have been four fatal accidents on Reynisfjara, as well as numerous near-fatalities.
Stay safe and make the best of every day!
The texture is the perceived surface quality of a work of art in the visual arts. It is a two-dimensional and three-dimensional design element distinguished by its perceived optical and physical properties. The texture is one of the simplest elements of photography to explain emotions.
The words used to describe the surface are usually the exact words to express its feelings. If the texture is rough, your photo will have wild emotions, and if the texture is gentle, so is the mood.
It's all about patterns, colors, and depth in texture photography, and every single detail of a texture plays a significant role in the overall perception of the photograph.
These intricate details, exciting patterns, vibrant colors, and a good depth contribute to a beautiful texture.
How do you create texture and depth in your composition?
This is another one of my favorites! Mark my words, this will be the house I will spend my last years!
I took this picture while we were road tripping in Borgarnes. It was the northern part of Iceland for sure. I took this picture while moving, but that's the power of a fast shutter speed.
When you want to immortalize something, you need to be fast, as fast as possible, definitely faster than the naked eye...that's why photography is such an exciting and close art to my soul.
Last but not least, you DON'T need a fancy camera to get that perfect crisp picture that you have in your mind. All you need is some research and much practice!
This one was also part of the world I never dared to visit, being part of a digital exhibition like "Powerful Composition" at Laurent Gallery in Melbourne, Australia. I think it's a bit messed up how technology evolved, how this pandemic changed us all.
I realized that in my case, at least, I was fearful of the unknown most of the time. It wasn't because the novel is terrible, but instead, I was afraid of self-discovery and change.
I love it when I go out in Spain, and all my friends are complaining about the cold, and I'm like, "You know that Iceland is colder in the summer months, right? Man, the f**k up!"
Icelandic winter is harsh is the most intimidating thing I have ever felt. If you wear make-up, you will feel it freeze in a few minutes, and I am not even joking.
The worst part about winter? You still need to go to work.
Going to work in the harshest conditions made me realize that there are things in life you have to do, even if you like it or not. That's life. Without downs, we couldn't appreciate ups.
I love hiking. There's something so raw and alive about hiking in nature.
One of the many reasons I decided to move to Granda was because I could hike downtown, which blew my mind.
As a smoker, hiking doesn't come naturally to me, you can imagine. But that struggle, that moment when I feel that I can't keep on going, but I don't want to stop at the same time. The best part? When you reach your destination and all those endorphins, kick in!
Anyhow, I remember when we were hiking to this mountain when I was living back in Iceland. It seemed like a nice hike, but it got pretty heavy. I also had some photo gear with me, and I was pretty tired. My ex started to yell at me because I was always the last one, so my situation was pretty intense.
But you know what? When I got on top, I took this picture. It's one of my favorite pictures I ever took. Not only because I kept on going, even when I felt like bailing, but because I got a chance to show you the world through my lenses, which is priceless for me.
Life happened, and this pic was part of digital exhibitions all over the world: "Your Best Shot" exhibition at Laurent Gallery in Melbourne, Australia, "Art of Photography" exhibition at Valid World Hall, in Barcelona, Spain - twice, and "Photographer of the Year 2020" exhibition at Agora Gallery in New York, United States.
Moral of the story? Never stop chasing your dreams, no matter how hard it gets at times!
A macro photograph is a very close-up and detailed image of a minor subject. The subject is photographed at 1:1 magnification, according to the strictest definition of macro photography.
The fact that the Mi 11's macro camera is more accurately a "telemacro" camera (short for telephoto macro) probably helps. The lens on the Mi 11 allows you to take close-up shots from a distance, which helps keep a subject well-lit while not scaring away any bugs or other wildlife you want to photograph.
Another of my favorite places in Granda is, of course, Alhambra.
Ever wondered what it takes to take a good landscape?
Allow the lines to guide you.
Piers, railroads, pathways, and other leading lines help to create compelling landscape images that transport the viewer deeper into the scene. Wide and super wide-angle lenses draw attention to large landscapes and leading lines.
