These are the best tips for wine tasting. Also the right glass makes all the difference. Cheers.
: How do I taste wine like a pro?
If youβre keen to learn more about the wines you love, here are some tips on how to truly experience each glass.
π· LOOK: Tilt the glass at an angle of 45 degrees away from you and assess its colour for tone and depth. Orange in white wines or brown in red wines can indicate a wine fault or that the wine has age.
π· SWIRL & SMELL: Gently swirl the wine in the glass, bury your nose deep in the bowl and have a smell. What fruit do you first smell? Have another sniff: are there layers of other aromas underneath it?
π· TASTE: Take a sip and before you swallow, think about your first impression of the wine. What does you taste? When you swallow, how does it feel in your mouth? What's your last impression of the wine, and how long does it last?
