A nice swarm capture this afternoon after I got a call from some friends who have been eagerly waiting for some bees. A swarm had landed on their own property in a lovely position which meant an easy capture. What an introduction to beekeeping! You both did so well! It was meant to bee ๐Ÿ

So you think youโ€™re brave?
How about this guy Steve Cooper rescuing Bee hives at Camdenโ€™s Community Gardens wearing nothing but a singlet and shorts.
The bees are still flying in and out.
His good friend Justin Oโ€™Brien turned up to help too. Thereโ€™s thousands of bees in here.
They must have known they were being rescued. They saved 6 hives.
Amazing stuff guys!!!!

Photo 1 shows the difference between girl and boy bees. Pink arrow is a female worker bee, Blue arrows are male drones who are larger and also have bigger eyes. Females do all the work and can sting while the males do not sting and their only purpose is to mate after which they die ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ 2nd and third photos show the different coloured pollen the bees are bringing in. This is how honey gets its different colour and tastes ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒบ
