March Meet the Maker!
Hi everyone, today is international women's day (woohoo!) and I thought it'd be a good time to - me!

So this is me - Sheryl. My besties call me the white ninja because I have relatively fair skin and move around stealthy like a cat (?), I guess. I was born and raised in Singapore and moved to the Bay Area for school and now, work.

I started this small business in memory of my late mother, whose name is Jacilia. She was a beautiful person in and out, and the best part is, she's my best friend. She's a cool mom who understands and loves me for who I am. I can go on and on but this is will turn into meet the maker's mom lol!

About Ikebana: Ikebana, is a Japanese art of flower arranging blossoms, branches, leaves, and stems as artmaking. In contrast to arranging flowers in a vase, ikebana aims to bring out the inner qualities of flowers and other live materials and express emotion.

As someone who has an avid interest in flower arrangement, the ikebana arrangement is something that I found really interesting! Swipe to see some examples of ikebana arrangements that inspired this design. One of the arrangement was done by my cousin 😍

[All that glitters is gold part 2]
So I struggled with putting these together due to a minor thumb injury.. But seeing part 2 of this set put together despite my thumb hurting gives me hope that 2021 will be positive!

[Silver lining]

I had fun mixing the colors in the extruder :D and its beginning to look and feel like Christmas!

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd give an introduction to J.cilia.designs and how this beautiful name and logo design came about.

Firstly, a big shout out to for her help in designing j.cilia's logo. Couldn't have done this without her help!

So, the name j.cilia actually stemmed from my mom's name, Jacilia. A few friends have thought I had collaborated with someone or another business, which led to this name. Mom left us 7 years ago after an arduous battle with leukemia. She was remembered not just for her big heart and love for others, but also for her love of crafts. She encouraged us to dig into our creative side and explore our interests, whether it was in the arts or in academia.

J.cilia.designs has been set up as a polymer clay earring small local business in the bay area, CA. This name is in honor and rememberance of a beautiful mother (and my best friend), daughter, sibling, spouse and friend who never stopped loving people around her ❤
