7 year old RUNS half marathon for charity - PLEASE HELP SHARE THIS TO HELP THESE CHARITIES. - links in comments.

Recently, Charlie has really stepped up his distances. A 5km turned into a 10km one day out of the blue. On that run, Charlie asked me if he could run 10 miles the next weekend... I said, "okay, we'll see...".

That weekend came round and he did 10 miles in one day - 5 miles with a football teammate, and then, after a drink and some fruit, he still wanted to get out there and complete the 10 mile run. On that run he asked to go out for a half marathon the next week.

Cutting a long story short, we ended up taking on that challenge together...

At the beginning of May, Charlie at the age of 7, managed his first ever half marathon in 2 hours and 55 minutes. We are super proud of him and he has expressed a desire to run a full marathon. Now he knows how hard it is to do a half marathon, I am more then ever letting him lead how far he wants to push the distance. I gave Charlie multiple opportunities to quit during the half marathon. "Mummy can come and pick us up, buddy", I would say. "No, I am doing a half marathon!!!", would be Charlie's reply. The mindset is the most important thing.

Charlie now has just 4.5 miles to go to complete the 100 mile challenge. Please support this charity to reward Charlie for his hard work and dedication at such a young age.

Our Research and Development Team has recruited the 600th patient to to the Recovery (the Randomised Evaluation of COVID-19 Therapy) Trial โ€“ a national study into lifesaving treatments for Covid-19.

The Trust is one of the top ten recruiting sites for the study, with 1 in 5 patients admitted to Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough City Hospitals with Covid-19 participating in the trial.

Dr Kanchan Rege, Chief Medical Officer at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: โ€œResearch is more important than ever and will help us learn more about the virus so we can treat it effectively. The initial findings from the study have already shown that dexamethasone and tocilizumab, drugs used in other conditions to reduce inflammation, significantly reduced risk of death for hospitalised patients with severe covid-19. These are now used as part of the standardised care given to patients."
