World affairs have been on every bodies radar as different areas of the world combat the delta variant COVID pandemic. As it waxes and wanes it’s hard not to get caught up in the negativity and anxiety. But today i want to remind you that the world is still a beautiful place and positive and wholesome things still exist human are capable of affection and empathy. We dance , we sing, and cook for each other, we laugh, eat and play together. We can’t forget the good.

What is the difference between anxiety as a normal healthy emotion and anxiety disorder

Normal anxiety...

- Is related to a specific situation or problem
-Lasts only as long as the situation or problem
-Is proportional to the situation or problem.
-Is a realistic response to a realistic problem or situation

Can be helpful in certain situations such as to prepare for a test.

When someone experiences an anxiety disorder...

-Anxiety may come up unexpectedly, for seemingly no reason
-The anxiety response to a situation or problem may be much stronger that they would expect
-They may experience a lot of unrealistic anxiety, such as fear of a situation that likely will never happen
-Anxiety may last for a long time, even when the situation or problem has been resolved
-Anxiety may feel impossible to control or manage
-They may avoid situations or things that they believe to trigger anxiety symptoms

We need to extend the mental health care facility to general hospitals rather than establishing specialized hospitals as people feel discomfort to go to specialized mental hospitals fearing to be stigmatized.

Creating a safe environment means including mental health into society and in to its structures and agents.

Why it all started

Once upon a time during a soul searching backpacking trip to connect with their inner peace, Pierre-Paul & Cassandra (a couple of passionate creatives) committed to one day overcome their fears and self-doubt and launch their own brand which would involve all the things they loved, creativity, entertainment and art as a whole.

Though that wasn’t enough, it had to be more... if they would commit to it; it had to be founded in their desire to help other people. It could not be just a brand, it HAD to do some sort of good, and offer value beyond the pure materialistic world.

Both having experienced various degrees of anxiety throughout the years, they decided to explore the subject further and to take more direct action against the stigma surrounding anxiety and its impact on our day-to-day lives.

Thus was born the idea for The Anxious Empath. Combining arts, entertainment and fashion, they launched a brand that uses clothing to spark conversations about anxiety.
