Asana and Aloha
Our vision is to make the practice of yoga accessible to the people of Hawaiʻi and beyond. Our goal Donation-Based Yoga and Meditation Practice
Mahalo to all who have already given so generously to this cause. We are so grateful for you and your heart of service!
Your donations 💸 help us provide weekly mindfulness 🧘🏽♀️🧘🏽♂️ education programming and support services for students 👩🏽🎓👨🏽🎓and educators 👩🏽🏫👨🏽🏫 in Hawai’i 🌺. In these sessions, students are able to learn more about how stress and trauma impact their bodies and their ability to learn and perform in the classroom and at home. They are also given safe space and support to connect with challenging thoughts and emotions and learn healthy ways to process and regulate them. We all have strong and difficult reactions 😡😖😞😭 that rise up with us when faced with the obstacles and curveballs that life throws our way. Asana & Aloha seeks to empower our schools and communities with tools and support to safely and skillfully navigate those reactions and take ownership of the ways in which they respond to these challenges.
Any amount that you can give, large or small, helps us make an impact in the lives of our haumana and kumu 🙏🏽
Help Support Hawaiʻi’s Students and Teachers Today, organized by Cody Miyashiro Carvalho What would you say if I told you that you could make a meani… Cody Miyashiro Carvalho needs your support for Help Support Hawaiʻi’s Students and Teachers Today
Please consider making a small contribution (link in the bio) to support the growth and expansion of our mission to bring mindfulness-based social and emotional learning programming and resources directly to Hawaiʻi’s students and educators.
Youth mental/emotional health trends, reporting severe anxiety, traumatic stress, panic attacks, delepression, and su***de have been on a very dangerous rise since before the pandemic. The social isolation, hardship, pain, and loss experienced as a result of the CoVID response, as well as the extreme political polarization and rise in international and domestic community conflict has only served to make things worse.
We and our local school and community partners are committed to providing students and enducators with the tools, resources, and experiences that they need, but we need your help to make it possible. 100% of your donations go towards expanding our capacity to provide quality, place-based, and culturally relevant mindfulness-based social and emotional learning programming in Hawaiʻi’s schools.

Yes, you are!
"The worst thing we ever did
was put God in the sky
out of reach
pulling the divinity
from the leaf,
sifting out the holy from our bones,
insisting God isn’t bursting dazzlement
through everything we’ve made
a hard commitment to see as ordinary,
stripping the sacred from everywhere
to put in a cloud man elsewhere,
prying closeness from your heart.
The worst thing we ever did
was take the dance and the song
out of prayer
made it sit up straight
and cross its legs
removed it of rejoicing
wiped clean its hip sway,
its questions,
its ecstatic yowl,
its tears.
The worst thing we ever did is pretend
God isn’t the easiest thing
in this Universe
available to every soul
in every breath"

Let go and flow.
Hey, it's Thursday!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This really speaks to me. To me, it emphasizes the vital importance of having our own practice and maintaining our own peace and center. Sometimes I get so caught up on wanting to help others but my own personal practice and spiritual diligence suffers. I know I can't really show up fully for the people I want to help. What about you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Join Kaitie and I on the mat TODAY at 5:30 as we continue to build a solid foundation of peace so that we can go out into the world and help others.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are still offering free classes through all of May to those who make a donation to the organization of your choice to , just dm us a screenshot receipt of your contribution or Venmo us and we'll make a donation in your name to ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For the rest of May, all Asana & Aloha classes will be donation based. Reserve your spot by donating to an organization listed in our story or Venmo us directly. All proceeds will go to helping India get more ventilators. 🕉🧡⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hi! It still feels like Malaki but it's Mei, and the last time we posted was Pepeluali. 🥸 Oops. Time has both moved at an incredibly slow pace yet flown by in a blink of an eye. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is today's ʻŌlelo noʻeau and as usual, the Universe really needed me to see it. ✨ This month I'm trying to focus on gratitude. This has been a rough season for Cody and I but when we practice gratitude, it's a lot easier to be patient and present. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🍈 While I've been reaching for the highest 'ulu, I sometimes take what's right in front of me for granted. Today, I am reminded of the many blessings right in front of me- good health of my loved ones, family & friends who support me, a home filled with love to live in and nourish my soul, & this small but strong community! 💌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Take a moment to pause-- inhale & exhale. Now notice, what blessings are right in front of you? 💛 Tell us in the comments below!
