I use to think everyone else knew more than me.
I use to let the criticism of others seep into my soul and take flight upon my self esteem.
I use to think I was not good enough, and each day became a battle within my mind.

I do not feel this way anymore.

I have ownership of my own value.
When we find our path, the world opens up - and, they say the “high road” has less traffic.

So…I’ll take that one.

I’m a professional horse trainer, a ranch owner, a Baird daughter… and a women who knows that you should never rely on someone else’s sword to save you.
So always carry your own.

It scares people when we know who we are.
But that’s okay.
Do it anyway.
- Mike 🖤

SD Danielle ❤️
This stunning mare is a forever girl here at RLR. It didn’t take much for her to win over our hearts, and remind us that temperament is also part of the complete package that makes up the perfect Gypsy Cob. ❤️

A huge thank you with so much gratitude to Josephine Down from SD Cobs for parting with this beautiful girl and letting her be here with us. ❤️

This year SD Danielle x SD Empire had RLR Rock on Johnny 😍we’re excited to see what 2023 has in store for the same pairing. ❤️👍

Well it’s been a long time. We’ve had a very busy spring with a lot going on here at the ranch. Shop has sat empty for a few months. Feels good to get caught up on some stuff. Thanks to a couple of really patient and wonderful clients. A garden wishing well and a farm sign in the books. One more project and I am caught up. Thank you again to all.

Just finished restoring this beautiful number 3 Stanley Bailey smoothing plane. I hope I look this good when I’m 90 years old. This plane was manufactured in 1931/1932. That’s cool. Kinda nerdy I know (Lmao) but it brings me joy in a time where people need to find things to lift their spirits. What’s your thing...?

One more detail and this beauty is ready for finish. I’ve really enjoyed building this wood workers bench. It is an amazing piece and my grandkids grandkids will probably be fighting over it if there is another wood worker in the family. I’ll do a final post when we are completely done and explain the history behind this project. Thanks again for tuning in.

When taking on any wood working project there are many factors to consider for both the client and the craftsman, not the least of which is cost! I made up my mind early on in this project that I wanted a leg vise. It is one of the most versatile work holding methods. Unfortunately the hardware alone to install a nice one is upwards of 7 or 800 dollars. So when it’s not in the cards what is the best solution...? You build one. This hand-wheel alone to purchase is the bulk of the retail cost. This beautiful piece of hard maple cost me about ten dollars and an hour or so on the lathe. Time well spent I’d say! On to the next part. If all goes well this thing will be on its feet today. Huge hurdle and one I’ll be glad to cross! Getting down to parts, trim and accessories! Stay tuned.

The number one rule of wood working...? The number of clamps required will always exceed the number of clamps available by at least one! Think outside the box!!!

Two down...! And this wasn’t the tricky part. Just wait to see what comes next. Got ya guessing yet? Stay tuned!

One down...! Three to go. Stay tuned for the last addition to the HBD studios. It was definitely time!

This handsome guy is sold and will bring joy and peace to the new owner for years to come. I said... they never last long and they’re getting harder and harder to get. But don’t worry if you missed out... I’ll be starting another right away and will keep you all up to speed on its progress. Thanks for tuning in.

This handsome guy is finished and available to extend or begin someone’s collection. These pieces are becoming sought after and collectable. He is number five and is signed and numbered one of one. If interested please message me to discuss it. Thanks so much.

I got asked once why all my tree spirit carvings look sad. The legend will hopefully clear this up for you guys. The purpose of a tree spirit is to absorb any negative energy that enters your home or property. To watch over you and to keep you safe. To still the will of any who do not have the best intentions or your absolute best interests at heart. To halt the naysayers and block those with less than the best of intentions. This handsome fella is in the last stages of creation and will soon be available to watch over you. I’ll let everybody know when he’s completed and ready for service. Stay tuned!!!
