👩As I promised, here you are the 4th part of reflexive verbs with different meaning. How will you know if it's a normal verb or a reflexive verb or not?, Well, Just pay atention to the verb ending wich always ends with SE. Otherwise, if the infinitive verb doesn't have this pronoun, means that it's not reflexive.

✨Brillar por su ausencia is an idiomatic expression in Spanish that is used to indicate that someone is not in the place or at the time he/she is needed. It literally means to shine by his absence.

👨‍🏫History

👉This expression has its origin during the Roman Empire where it was a tradition, when someone died, to exhibit the portraits of all the ancestors of the deceased in the funeral urn.

🕵According to the historian Tacitus in his book III called "Annals", many people pointed out that the pictures of two criminals were not exhibited and they said those photos "Brillaban por su ausencia" at Junia's funeral: Cassius and Brutus (Julius Caesar's assassins).
Thus, in the 18th century, this phrase was popularized by the French poet André de Chenier.

✏Let's practice!
Leave an example with this expression in the comments below! I'll give you feedback.
Brillar por su ausencia is una expresión idiomática en español que se utiliza para señalar que alguien no se encuentra en el lugar o momento que se le necesita. Literalmente significa to shine by his absence.

🤔If we literally translate the idiomatic expression Sacar la casta, the meaning would be taking the breed out. However, taking the breed out is nothing more than having the courage to face situations with bravery no matter how difficult they may be.

🕵️‍♀️This expression is related to our ancestors. The meaning Casta in Spanish is ancestry or lineage. In this sense, "sacar la casta" has to do with the positive characteristics of our ancestors such as honor, bravery, courage, honesty, strength, among others.

👉That is why, when we say "sacar la casta", it refers to using any of the positive characteristics of our ancestors to face difficult situations in life.

💬Do you have an example using Sacar la casta? Leave it in the comments, I'll give you feedback.
💾Don't forget to save this post and share.
