Happy National CROWN Day!
"Created by The Crown Coalition, National Crown Day is campaigning to end hair discrimination in the workplace and at schools, which the Black community faces far too often when wearing their natural hair.
The CROWN Act, which stands for โCreate a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair,โ is a law that prohibits race-based hair discrimination, which is the denial of employment and educational opportunities because of hair texture or protective hairstyles including braids, locks, twists or Bantu knots."

Juneteenth is a day for recognition, celebration, community, and reflection.
On this day in 1865, notification *finally* reached the enslaved people of Galveston, Texas, that they were no longer slaves and property. Here's the thing...slavery didnโt end that day! It continued until the abolishment of slavery with the 13th Amendment that was ratified on December 6, 1865. The pursuit for justice, equity, and the fight against Jim Crowe 2.0 continue today.
