📸 ONEPlanET is excited to have been part of the Cyprus Institute's 2024 sCYence Fair!

The ONEPlanET team in Cyprus, represented by Natalie Kafantari and Constantinos Kritiotis, created an engaging booth experience that left attendees buzzing with excitement. Through an interactive game focusing on the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus, we bridged the gap between science and fun, captivating minds of all ages.

Participants engaged in the challenge, sorting through 54 solution cards to tackle pressing environmental issues. With each card representing a unique solution, tool, or application, the game encouraged us to think about sustainability in our daily lives. As stickers were placed on the board to indicate whether the solutions were sustainable or unsustainable, a collective awareness of our impact on the environment emerged.

This event demonstrated the value of collaboration and innovation in tackling global challenges. ONEPlanET is grateful for the opportunity to inspire change and spark conversations about building a more sustainable future. Together, we can make a difference!

Leave no one behind - Blog CARTIF 24/01/2024

Energy demand on the African continent is expected to increase by 60% by 2040, far more than anywhere else in the world. This highlights the need to overcome a number of social and infrastructural barriers that still prevent hundreds of millions of Africans from having access to electricity and clean water. How can we ensure a sustainable and inclusive energy transition in Africa?

Raquel López, a researcher at CARTIF , explores this question in her latest blog post "Leave no one behind". She shares her perspective on the energy transition in Africa and the challenges and opportunities it presents, and how the ONEPlanET Project, funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, is using a Water-Energy-Food Nexus approach to support the energy transition in Africa.
