Mr. Earl Maligro, a Grade 11 Senior High School student, brought home the bacon as second place in the Inter-School Oration competition held at City Mall Tagum last February 19, 2024.

With the topic, "You(th) Create Hope in the World: A Youth's Beautiful Mind", Mr. Maligro performed his oration piece expressing motivation and inspiration which became a testament to the powerful spirit of the youth creating hope in the world through the beauty of their minds.

He is set to gear up for the upcoming Regionals this coming Saturday at the Abreeza Mall, Davao City hoping to reach the National level.

B. E. DUJALI, DAVAO DEL NORTE - St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) extended assistance and aid to the flood victims of the Municipality of Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte through a reach out activity last February 05, 2024.

The school's reach-out activity was part of its social responsibility and commitment to the Ignacian Marian value of service.

Additionally, the school is grateful for those who donated and volunteered. The success of the activity would not have been possible without their unwavering dedication and generosity.

The recent floods caused by the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) have left thousands of people homeless and in need of assistance in the Davao Region. Many of them are our fellow Dabawnons who are suffering from hunger and despair.

As a Catholic Institution that values Faith, Excellence, and Service, St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) is launching a donation drive to help our brothers and sisters in need. We are calling on all SMCTI students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends to join us in this noble cause.

We are accepting donations in kind, such as ready-to-eat food, water, clothing, medicine, hygiene kits, and other essentials starting today until Friday next week. You can drop off your donations at the SMCTI school gate.

No amount or item is too small to make a difference. Together, we can show our solidarity and compassion to the flood victims and help them rebuild their lives.

Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs issued a memorandum announcing the postponement of the Institutional Intramurals 2024, February 02.

As stated, the current unfavorable weather circumstances have made the students, organizers, and institution less ready. Furthermore, SMCTI made this decision to ensure the safety of everyone.

The school is yet to announce the date of the Intramurals 2024.

Flash floods and thunderstorms are among the most recurring natural phenomena globally. The floods can develop within the first few minutes or hours, depending on the weather patterns and other environmental factors.

Consequently, it is advised that everyone prepares for any expected or unforeseen circumstances. It is beyond responsibility that our safety is our utmost priority.

St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) just recently announced the schedules for the enforcement of complete school uniform policy for old or continuing students, January 15, and transferees, February 13, to maintain and enhance the academic atmosphere and discipline in the school.

In line with this, all transferees must adhere to the SMCTI proper dress code when entering the school premise.

On the other hand, all students are also reminded of the No ID, No Entry policy. Students are obliged to wear their IDs, with updated stickers for the second semester, all the time.

Today is the Feast of the Three Kings or the Catholic Epiphany Day, marking the end of the Christmas season and celebrating the revelation of Jesus as the Son of God.

The Three Kings, distinguished astrologers, also called Magi, named Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar, journeyed from afar to honor Christ. According to Matthew 2:1-11, they presented Him with precious gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

May this day be our guide towards the revelation of true wisdom and may this day be the light in every path of life.

The students of SMCTI opened their hearts and minds as they listen to the inspiring stories of the speakers from Tagum City Youth Development Office.

The sharers displayed their genuine concern for the well-being of the entire student body by actively listening and engaging in meaningful discussions.

Marians not only showed their eagerness to learn but also showed their commitment. The dedication displayed by the students of SMCTI in listening to and addressing relevant topics such as HIV, teenage pregnancy, drug addiction, and su***de truly illustrate their commitment to their overall well-being.

Their open hearts and active participation in these discussions will undoubtedly have a profound and lasting impact, creating a campus community that embraces empathy, understanding, and resilience.

Keeping the Spark of the Philippine National Hero

Rizal Day is marked as a national holiday to commemorate the demise of one of the greatest heroes of the Philippines, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Every year on December 30, we pay tribute to his life, works, and efforts.

This special day reminds us of Rizal's determination for his vision and ideals for Philippines amidst having to face a series of challenges.

Today, as we celebrate his 127th Anniversary of Martyrdom, let us remember Rizal's contribution in kindling the revolutionary passion of Filipinos.
