When no one comes to class I still like to take the time to practice things I’ve been working on. Here, crow to headstand and back to crow. I didn’t quite get my legs to the full extension, but for me getting up in this version of headstand has taken a lot of practice! And a lot of extra core workouts 🤪😅 Look I did it!

I heard this in a book this morning, and it struck me very deeply. I have struggled with addiction, issues of self worth, my identity, and accepting my general existence for most of my life. Now I have successfully (or so I feel) learned how to live a life that does not include drugs and alcohol for a little over 9 months. My success has not been strictly through the practice of withdrawal from those actions, or abstinence from substances, but a strong pull from of a felt sense in my heart and my entire being that I belong on this spiritual path. I am meant to deepen my connection to myself, deepen my connection to others, deepen my connection with source and all oneness. This is what it means to me to practice Yoga.
I know the path ahead has many stepping stones that will teach me new ways to navigate. And today I do not ponder the pleasures of the things I have left behind, I ponder the pleasures that my new life brings with it every day.

Today was about conquering fears. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to be a motorcycle guy. I achieved this dream almost 2 years ago. And today I leveled up that dream. Having little to no experience riding on dirt roads/poorly maintained roads I took my brand new motorcycle off the pavement from Jacó to Bijagual. There were many many MANY holes and ruts and curves, and the voice of doubt rang in my head for most of it. Deep down I knew it could do it, and I did! Excited to add some more adventure into my life. And grateful to a consistent Yoga practice for giving me my confidence back. Shaneward Wilington

This morning's Yin class was all about the heart chakra, Anahata. Translated, Anahata means unstruck, unhurt or unbeaten. Anahata deals with matters of the heart, physically and spiritually-the circulatory system, relationships, compassion for self and others, Love, grief. How can you nourish your Anahata today? ❤️

One of my favorite places in Jaco' is this abandoned building on top of a little mountain called Miro where many talented artists have left their mark...and some humor. I laugh every time I look at this picture....do you see it?? I had no idea it was there until I saw the photo! 😂

Single use plastic straws are one of the most common found pieces of trash in the ocean. The PROBLEM with SOAP-
Soap! It's everywhere! We use it ALL THE TIME! For tons of things! AND-most soaps are made with chemicals such as surfactants, parabens and sulfates which can be both toxic to the environment and toxic for skin. Soap most often ends up going down the drain, leading back to our oceans, streams and lakes and if not properly treated can lead to a build up of non-biodegradeable chemicals in our waterways. When buying soaps, consider switching to bar soaps that are made from natural fats and oil fragrances-your skin and the aquatic life will thank you!!! 🐳
