I remember losing my father at 11 and being in a foster home at 12 and I knew that I was going through these things so I could help others who followed that might go through the same things. ππ»β€οΈππ» I count it a blessing that He walked through those fires with me so I can walk through them with others ππ»β€οΈππ»
Never settle for anything other than Gods best! ππ»ππ»ππ»
Breaking the cycle ππ»ππ»ππ»
Gods plans for us are far better than we could ever think or imagine if we just let go and let God ππ»β€οΈππ»
On this Valentines Day trust what is, what isnβt and whatβs to come. We canβt always see the path, we just have to be obedient and continue moving forward, one step at a time and be open. Trust and rely, He has the best intentions for us, our lives and our future! ππ»βΊοΈππ»
Let go, Let God ππ»
Always think before you speak. What you want to say may be true but is it necessary or kind? Whatβs your intention with your words? Our tongues have the power of life keep death, choose wisely!!! These days
I choose to empower, encourage and lift others up. Often times I decide not to speak at all and thatβs growth! I choose to help and not hurt, we all should! ππ»β€οΈππ»
We have the ability to allow who we give our power, time or energy too choose wisely from your heart and not out of obligation ππ»β€οΈππ» grateful for my circle βοΈ
Always look up! Thatβs where our faith, our strength and our source of Life is!!! ππ»β€οΈππ» what does He want from you today π₯°
Even in active addiction itβs hard to let go of the drink/drug that youβve depended on or have made your best friend. Whatβs next, whatβll happen, how will Iβ¦. Let me tell you from experience, when you let go and surrender, miracles happen, relationships are restored and the hurt and pain slowly begin to heal. But first we have to let go. Donβt suffer in silence. Reach out, ask for help and begin that beautiful l, restorative journey. We can and we do recover ππ»ππ»ππ»
Third step prayer is still one of my favorites over 20 years later ππ»β€οΈππ»
The message in youth group this Sunday was all about learning to Surrender and grow in our relationship with Him. These compliment that message perfectly ππ»β€οΈππ»
Joy Williams, a Christian artist, sand a song years ago βdo they see Jesus in meβ. And thatβs always been my prayer. Youβd know by my actions, not by my words! ππ»β€οΈππ» still my prayer twenty plus years later ππ»β€οΈππ»
Iβve always loved the saying βyou canβt fill from an empty cupβ. Since becoming a mom, single mom and doing the work that I do in the SUD field, I feel this, respect it and follow it fairly regularly otherwise I wouldnβt be effective at my job ππ»βΊοΈππ»
ππ»β€οΈππ»
Be Still is one of my favorite verses. Itβs not easy to do but itβs most beneficial.
And donβt steal that pen. Gods not done with you yet. Itβs hard to let go but when you do, beautiful things happen ππ»β€οΈππ»
Everything always points to pausing and praying. Thatβs where our power is.
On Page 87 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, we are encouraged: βAs we go through the day we pause, when agitated or doubtful, and ask for the right thought or action.β
Remember to pause and pray ππ»β€οΈππ»
When you need to take the time, take the time. And donβt feel bad about it ππ»
Best way to start your day is spending time with Him and looking inward. I then ask Him to direct my steps for the day, to guide my words and thoughts and help me to be His vessel ππ»β€οΈππ»
Hereβs some positivity for the upcoming New Year.
My favorite is about healing and letting go of the past. We canβt change what happened to us whether we were kids or as adults, we cannot control others behaviors towards us. But the power is what we do with that. Stop holding onto things that hurt. Let go. Forgive and begin the healing process. Itβs beautiful and your worth it!!! ππ»β€οΈππ»
Had the honor and privilege of being a guest on this podcast. If you have a chance take a listen and feel free to share. My hope is that it helps someone, even if itβs just one person, itβs worth it! ππ» You are not alone, please donβt ever hesitate to ask for help ππ»

Anyone interested in this class there is still time to register. If you have tuition reimbursement and work in the field I would highly recommend this class. We talk about physiology of addiction, contributing factors such as trauma, genetics, untreated mental health, ADHD, etc. I also cover the continuum of care and barriers for people finding and sustaining long term recovery.
This is open to the public as well as current Anna Maria students. Itβs also online so if you arenβt local, please donβt let that be a barrier to joining!!!
We live in seasons. Some good and some that arenβt so good. βThis too shall passβ has always resonated with me and Iβve learned over the years to really appreciate and embrace the good seasons and to weather the not so good because they always pass and βjoy comes in the morningβ. Itβs all about the hills and valleys and knowing no matter what, we are never alone ππ»πππ» Be encouraged if youβre atruggling, this too shall pass. Reach out, ask for help, you are not alone ππ»
If we canβt change a situation we need to change the way we think about it ππ»
I always say that regardless of the tough childhood and upbringing I wouldnβt change it for anything. It has made me who I am today. Today I can help others and say that βI understandβ or that βIβve been thereβ and look at me now. We do heal, we can change and we do recover!! Let go and let God. He can lead us to new heights if we allow Him ππ»ππ»ππ»
ππ»πππ»
Allowing God to lead may not be the easiest w thing but it sure is most enjoyable and fruitful. Blessed to be loved and used by You ππ»πππ»
