✨a place where coffee is always needed and books are a solid form of therapy✨

✨‘The Vanishing Half’ by Brit Bennett ✨

This book was amazing from start to finish. Taking a step out of my comfort zone was something I don’t normally do when it comes to reading + investing my time into a book but I am SO glad I did.

I was hooked immediately. I didn’t want to stop reading once I began.

There difficult, but valuable lessons I learned —
•The passion and power to find out your individual strengths/weaknesses isn’t as easy as you may think. It takes some loss, some possible gains, and unbearable conversations that you don’t want to have with those you love the most
•Taking that leap to make a better version of yourself (no matter what that looks like) is important. The passion in knowing you deserve a better life than what you might have been given is a personal yet powerful goal. The risk is always the hardest to conquer but always the best part.
•Judgement will always be around. The way we handle it and conquer will define our character (and these characters did a phenomenal job of doing so)

‼️Read this book‼️
You won’t regret reading this beautiful storyline of two young, African-Americans twins who found themselves in the most profound ways.
, this was touching in so many ways 🥹

✨LONG OVERDUE REVIEW✨
‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ by Alice Feeney

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I feel so bad for writing this review because I normally love Feeney’s writing style 🥺

I could not get into this one. I tried. I really did.
I got 65% through it on my Kindle and did not feel the urge to pick it up and read more.
The storyline seemed very repetitive to me and very unclear on what was happening. Im not entirely sure if it was because it jumped so frequently between characters or the overall demeanor just seemed off.
Maybe it just wasn’t the right book to read at this point in my life? I wish I could tell ya 😂 BUT I will tell ya this — this won’t be the last book I read of hers. From what I read, it was still worth three 🤩

Im honestly curious to hear what others thought about this book?
Comment below, message me, whatever works best for you!

HIIIII — IM BACK 👋🏼 and yes, I am alive and well! These last 6 months have been a WHIRLWIND, let me tell ya and I couldn’t be happier BUT what I slacked on was something I truly enjoy. I have had a lot immense changes in my life that have truly opened up my eyes to new experiences and different opportunities. Have I upset people in this community during this process? Yes. Do I regret it? No. Am I missing the platform and talking to all of you amazing women? Of course — but this is something I NEEDED to do FOR ME. I needed to be selfish and not focus on something that has seemed less important. AND THATS OKAY. Now that I finally feel… settled in and comfortable in my own skin again (although I am still working everyday on it), I am reading to jump back into the enjoyment of reading and the community of bookstagram. Whew! Now that that spiel is over 🤣 what are you all reading?!? What’s on the hot list lately?!?

❄️ “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only page” -St. Augustine❄️

📍Oswego, Illinois ➡️ Madison, Wisconsin

My first travel assignment as a Certified/Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the inpatient area of a downtown Madison hospital has been one of the craziest, most thrilling two months of my entire life. I never thought I had the guts to do something like this — leave everything I know behind and do what I love.
But here I am— happy, fulfilled, and proud of how FAR Ive come, not only in this career but with MYSELF 🥹

Never be afraid to take risks. don’t ever let your nervous, anxious and over paranoid gut tell you that you’re not capable of amazing things.
Trust in the process and you will succeed every. single. time.
and yes — I’ve been called a ‘cheesehead’ more times than I can count on two hands 😅 but I’m not complainin 💚💛💚💛

✨HAPPY PUB DAY !✨

•Throughout my reading journey, I have always wondered about the “why” behind the book. The intentions or “purpose” behind the author’s choices to write that particular plot. Was it something that was a personal experience or was it an imaginary type of mindset that makes them unique?
•Throughout the last few months, I have had the pleasure to connect with on a level that I never thought possible. Although the entire reasoning behind the book is special to the author respectfully and not all questions will be answered, she had no problem taking some time out from her busy schedule to discuss some of her intentions for publishing ‘How It Had To Be.’
Her intention behind this book, how she connected to it personally, and how much the support from this community has been such blessing for her and her family was discussed and she is the real deal.
•She is hands down one of the most kind, felt-hearted individuals I have ever met. Her passion, hard work, and dedication to making her dreams come true is clear and I am completely OVER THE MOON to connect with her.
•Want to know what else is awesome? She supports my small business. Creating her book cover in a sticker form for her upcoming events was one for the books (no pun intended🥲).
•To say I am proud is an understatement and I wish you ALL the success! You deserve it!
Do me a favor and support her. She is the best and I cannot be more excited to dive into this beauty💙

🧡 WHAT. IS. UP. OCTOBER 🧡— im honestly still wondering where the rest of the year went? Time is moving too fast… anybody agree? ANYWAY ➡️ A few things to discuss here:
✨I am SUPER excited to be apart of ‘The Book Hoarders Book Club that and put together JUST in time for me to join the bookstagram world. The community has been the bees-knees to say the very least.
OCTOBER PICK: ‘The Last Housewife’ by Ashley Winstead
Too excited about this one — I jumped right into it when I found out in September 🤣 No hesitation. Can’t wait to discuss!
✨Quick shout-out to my girl for the most adorable custom-made bracelets. We talked for a minute about both of our small businesses that are SUPER new and we decided we genuinely wanted to support each other in the best way.
Free bracelets for free stickers = SUPPORT AT ITS FINEST. She was the absolute sweetest and I will forever support her. Go check her out — she’s great!
✨Last but not least, I am SO excited fall is here. Summer used to be my favorite but as I get older, fall is hands down the best time of the year. Although that is the case, lets not forget about “wearing pink” as well. Breast Cancer Awareness Month October is a hard month for me. Breast cancer holds a special place in my heart. It has affected my family more than ways than one SO with that being said, I wanted to spread the love to all of you who have been personally affected by it as well💗 My heart is with you.
I made Breast Cancer Awareness stickers to spread the awareness of how serious and common this cancer really is💗
This isn’t about sales AT ALL, but I want to donate 20% of your PERSONAL purchase to any local care center in YOUR area for the entire month of October. My website is not up YET, but soon! Being a small business owner isn’t easy😂 but it’s so worth it!
Just a side note: Pink has been my color lately, especially when it comes to my hair 💕🙃

just sitting here thinking about Fox from Hook, Line, Sinker still 🤭 there’s just something about a bad boy— am I right? oh and I took a break from my small business & reading to dye my hair! too bad it’s semi-permanent 💖 shoutout to .sah.bookstamom for pushing me to post my wild side, you’re the real MVP

‘Hook, Line and Sinker’ by Tessa Bailey

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ || 5

Alright, I must admit.. I was NOT confident at all when I first started this book, mainly because I stepped out of my comfort zone and cannot remember the last time I decided to read a quick and spicy romance 🫣
BUT BOY LET ME TELL YA, I am SO happy I stuck through this one!
The combination of Fox’s vulnerability and Hannah’s passion was like none other. Their scars were uncovered in a spicy type of way and my heart fluttered throughout the ENTIRE transformation of their relationship💙
Pssst… here’s a little secret — I caught myself having that “book boyfriend” vibe 100% of the time — I CAN’T BE THE ONLY ONE 😅

✨, you are a gem for bringing these two characters to life and showing the world what caring for those you least expect feels like (in the best way of course)✨

What did you all think of this romance?

✨TBR TIME✨

📖 ‘THE HOUSE ACROSS THE LAKE’ BY RILEY SAGER
This came in my September Book of the Month subscription as you saw in my last post — I honestly just need to read it at this point because I literally see posts about it every.single.day 🫠

📖 ‘DAISY DARKER’ BY ALICE FEENY
Another one I have seen EVERYWHERE so it’s a definite must

📖 ‘ATOMIC HABITS’ BY JAMES CLEAR
I REALLY try to incorporate a motivational book throughout the month, even if it takes me the whole dang month to finish (or longer). I think it’s super important to incorporate those core values into your life even if reading is a form of therapy for me

Here’s the catch…

I just joined the Book Hoarders Book Club that and put together this month which adds another MUST to the list — my very first bookstagram book club 🙃 Who knew there were that many people out there named Tara? Not me

Cheers to the next 3 weeks being busy as a mother trucker — WHOSE WITH ME?!
Side note — how the heck do you mamas do it? Real MVPs, that’s for sure 🤍

🩸REVIEW 🩸

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ || 5

I think my face says it all 😮🤣

I had finished this book RIGHT before I started my bookstagram and I feel pretty confident in saying it is what motivated me to just GO FOR IT.

The suspense and the bone-chilling plot twists were almost too much to handle. I am a sucker for books that divide into separate viewpoints to gain perspective from the main character’s shoes and that’s exactly what this book did. There were multiple times I had to get up, walk away and gather my thoughts 🫢
If you haven’t read this yet, put it on your TBR STAT 🏃🏽‍♀️

🩸FAV QUOTES🩸

“We’re a bunch of freaks. That’s all there is to it. A big bunch of stupid, inconsequential freaks. We don’t have to be happy. We don’t have to be normal. We don’t even have to be alive. Not if we don’t want to. We can do whatever we want as long as we don’t hurt anyone” — Poppy

“But now I know that me is fluid and shape-changing. So whatever you’re feeling now, it’s temporary. But what will happy to that family if they find out about their father’s betrayal will have repercussions forever. The damage will never heal” — SJ

“There’s a lot of shared existence for two people in a s*x-based relationship, a lot of time not having s*x. More than enough time for a bond to form. I never told you I loved you. You never told me you loved me. Some people would say that that was sufficient grounds to diminish everything else that happened between us. But I disagree. I disagree very strongly” — Laurel

“What makes you so sure she’s your child, Floyd? Did you ever wonder why she looks so little like either of us?” — Noelle

“A man who can’t love but desperately needs to be loved is a dangerous thing indeed” — Blue

🩸PLOT TWISTS🩸
Pages: 161, 193, 199, 220, 238, 267, 298, 307, 339

“killed” it. This is one of my favorite books of 2022 so far, hands down.

Have you read this yet? If so, what did you think? **k
