Fun podcast! Thank you Author Janelle Molony for joining us at White Stallion to record. Fascinating book you wrote! Give a listen on Apple, Spotify, etc.

Author Janelle Molony paid a personal visit to White Stallion Ranch to record this week's podcast about her new book "Emigrant Tales of the Platte River Raids." This was a super interesting edition of the Cowboy Up Podcast. Janelle compiled accounts from 70 survivors of the raids that happened along the Platte River in 1864! Some of the names involved -- Brown, Boone, Earp, Larimer Ringo, Rousseau and more. This historian did her homework and did it darn well. Pictured here: producer Lynn Wiese Sneyd, co-host Alan Day, Janelle Molony, and co-host Russell True. ⠀ ⠀

Who really wrote that beloved holiday song, "Here Comes Santa Claus?" (Hint: it wasn't Gene Autry!) Ginia Desmond knows who it was and she gives the behind-the-scene story of how those lyrics came to be. (Yep, she was there!) We sure enjoyed chatting with Arizona author Melissa Sevigny about her new book "Brave the Wild River." And that's exactly what two pioneering women did back in the summer of 1938. Braved the Grand Canyon's Colorado River in wooden boats for 40+ days on trip planned in about five minutes. All in the name of science. Fun interview. Great read! (published by W. W. Norton & Company )
