Yesterday I covered the Danville Transit Systemâs new bus wrap unveiling. The bus is covered with photos of 13 local African American trailblazers from the past and present who broke barriers and made history in Danville.
That leads me to todayâs Black history fact of the day.

In 1987 she became Danvilleâs first female firefighter.
She later became the cityâs first African American chief officer in 2004.
