🌟🎉 Fun Fact: Did you know that S*x education was introduced in Philippine schools in 1972? It was part of the government's education 🏫📚 program for the population. However, when the program module was revised in 2006 to include broader topics such as s*xual rights and responsible parenthood👨‍👩‍👧👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, it confronted opposition from the Catholic Church. Though it was renamed on multiple occasions, from reproductive health education to teen wellness programs, the church continued to reject it. Due to regard to antagonising the church hierarchy, the teaching of s*x and reproductive health in public schools still isn't enforced 😱. This has disappointed health experts and human rights advocates who believe young Filipinos deserve to be informed 📄💁about their bodies and reproductive health rights to reduce unwanted pregnancies, teenage abortion, and maternal mortality (Palatino, 2010.)
