"One person asked *Imam Sajjad (a.s)* "When *Imam Hussain (a.s)* was in ground at last minute, why he was hitting ground when he was stubbed by sword everytime was because on pain ? *Imam Sajjad (a.s)* replied, When my father was fatally wounded, and was left lying down. What prevented them from finishing him off sooner was the fact that every tribe was relying on the other to do the job i.e. each tribe hated to be seen as the one which killed *Hussain Ibne Ali (a.s)* *Shimr(L)* tells his soldiers "Why are you standing idly by? The man is critically wounded. Attack and finish him off".
Zar’aIbn Shareek hit him on the shoulder blade, the other shot him in the mouth; another hit him on the shoulder, SinanIbn Anas lodged his spear in the area of the collarbone, then in his chest; he also shot him with an arrow in the throat, Saleh bin Wahab stabbed him in the loin, then he falls down he kept his one hand on the ground and hitting the earth of Karbala when they stuck him, because the earth was started to shake and he was hitting and saying the earth do not, do not...
