Celebrating
A reminder to us all ❣️
Scripture tells us the order of love so we can remain in love beyond one day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
God 1st⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You 2nd⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Everyone 3rd⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We can love ourselves and each other better when we understand the love God has for us and when we return that love to Him. When we stand on this greatest love we will honour our self-care, our boundaries. We will love the skin we're in (externally and internally), removing insecurities and live boldly in that skin. Our boldness will embolden others and our security will give us the strength to cherish our relationships by showing love, forgiveness, kindness, communication and respect to those who need it, just like how we need it and received it from God who loves us. Full circle...the true Circle of Life and Love.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Yo if this ain’t the truth!! Now let’s go and kill this Friday! 💪🏾
M.I.A... yep that’s been me! It’s not something that I have done before for this long period of time, but the last few months have been pretty tough for me as I experienced a great loss in my life. What I went through after that was what I can only term as an external silence. Some may refer to it as a creative block and some may call it lack of motivation, but for me I was still connected to God, but detached from being connected to my social community and showing up for you all. Many have reached out as they noticed my absence and it’s no wonder that you may think I have been MIA.
Through processing everything I found when I would usually find myself busy doing all the things, all the things came to a halt. And I’m so glad it did. God continued to work through me and allowed me to recognise that we need to give ourselves the same grace He gives us. Allow the times of rest become your time of healing and when you truly seek this you will operate in what I call active rest and active healing. So yes I have been MIA but not ‘missing in action', but rather I’ve ‘missing in active rest and active healing’.
As my trainer tells me to have an active rest day where I’m not doing any strenuous workout, but rather something mild yet impactful, is how God told me to have an active rest period. I have not been stressing over posting and being creative, but allowing God to speak to me about the next steps He has ordered for my life that will ultimately impact you as we journey together. Going through this process has allowed me to seek God deeper as I heal from my loss and truly understand what it means when the Bible says ‘blessed are those that mourn’. We are blessed because we allowed our hearts to experience the love of God in human form.
While you continue to read this I just want to thank you friend, woman of purpose, woman of God for allowing me to be MIA. I hope this encourages you to do the same at any time your soul feels the need to. I’m excited for what’s coming up next and I can’t wait for you to be a part.
xx Carla
Grateful for this reminder because it can be easy to forget who you are and walk away from your dreams. You are the assignment. Don’t ever forget sis 🙏🏾
‘Discover the kingdom within you’
Did you know August is
For each Saturday in August I want to highlight my favourite black businesses that I actually buy from and have been inspired by. Not only will I feature them but I will highlight 3 lessons we as entrepreneurs and business owners can learn from them to achieve success in our businesses.
First up is no secret to those of you who have been following me for a while now. Of course it’s Sacred - Faith Inspired Gifts!
Sacred has been in business for 3 years and is about to celebrate 4 in November.
Sacred is a modern, inspirational boutique store providing gifts which are designed to Empower, Edify and Encourage the community through a variety of products including apparel, home decor, books, stationary, jewelry, and children's gifts. Their products help you to Boldly express your Faith!
Three profitable business lessons we can learn from Sacred are:
1️⃣ Do not despise small beginnings
2️⃣Collaboration over competition
3️⃣Be authentically you
Which lesson stands out most to you?
Follow and support open today until 5pm.
This is the 8th month of the year and a month of new beginnings.
You have an idea? Start it.
You want peace? Find it.
You want love? Give it.
You want success? Define it.
You need help? Ask for it.
God is ready to do new things in you and through you. He’s just waiting for you to activate it.
As the song goes ‘Whatever you ask for, whatever you pray for, NOTHING shall be denied saith the Lord’ 🎶
Isaiah 43:19: “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
Still on a high from amazing ex*****on last night in winning my island’s first gold medal🥇 ever!
When you read these stats she had all sorts of excuses to give up or not even qualify, but she write her own story!
Her goal was the same. Her strategy and mindset is what changed.
No matter the losses, the disappointments the difficulties and upsets, continue to pursue your goals and continue to live out your purpose. You never know who you will inspire or who’s life could be changed. For Flora it’s a whole nation 🇧🇲Heck it’s the whole world!
It’s never Gods plan to hurt us. It’s His plan to heal us, provide a better way and use us for His perfect will.
I pray you never experience anything as tragic as Cyntoia and I also pray that you use every experience as an opportunity to help others and show the grace of God blessings over your life.
That’s our purpose.
Repost• , God’s plan for your life is filled with purpose! gave us a great reminder of that during Part II of Pain, Process, and Action.
, , and were so honest and transparent during this episode.
One of the primary reasons we find it hard to walk in our purpose is because we choose everyone else’s needs over our own. As women this comes so naturally because we are innate nurturers. With that said we can only truly pour into others when we remember to pour into ourselves.
So I challenge to you say these 3 words ‘I Choose Me’
Btw whenever you see me post the beach and nature just know I have decided to Choose Me in that moment. What’s your go to?
💕Share and Save💕
As I prepare to sit with a group of ladies who have been reading my book I want to remember what God has said about you.
Take what you need, sis.
📖 Proverbs 31 Woman: More than the Good Wife available on
Hey sis 👋🏾 this is a reminder that your gift isn’t for everyone, it’s for the right one. So get started, keep pushing, you can do this, someone is waiting on you. 💕
I read the whole Bible for the 2nd time 🙌🏾Let me share some tips with you.
1. Make the commitment between yourself and God. Make the journey about growing closer to God, getting to know the character of God and getting to know God for yourself.⠀
⠀
2. Choose a plan ahead of time that best suits your reading and studying style. Choose digital or hard copy. What version of the bible will you use? Will you read Genesis to Revelations or choose an online plan?⠀
⠀
3. Take advantage of apps and online plans to help give you a structure. I recommend YouVersion Bible App. The first time I read the bible I did the 365 day plan which involved a devotional, an OT reading, a NT reading and a Psalm or Proverb. This time I chose the chronological bible reading.⠀
⠀
4. Choose uninterrupted time to devote to your reading. Set your alarm naming it something like Get closer to God for example.⠀
⠀
5. Be consistent, but be kind to yourself. There were times I missed days of reading. At first I was hard on myself and almost gave up, but I had to remember this was not a competition, this was a journey. I would make up those missed days by reading twice as much or using the narrative option on the YouVersion. I took the pressure off myself by starting on my own time and focused on being present during this experience.⠀
⠀
6. Find an accountability partner. If this is your first time then taking this journey with others can be fun, expand your learning and hold you accountable. Try your church groups, Clubhouse rooms or online group apps.
⠀
7. Write what the word is saying directly to you. Using the SOAP method is a good starting point. ⠀
Scripture - What part of the scripture speaks out most to you?⠀
Observation - What did you observe in the passage (ie the characters, environment, message, struggle, victory, plot twist, basic idea of the passage). ⠀
Application - How can you apply this passage to your life and how is it relevant today. Mostly what does it mean to you? ⠀
Prayer - Pray about the transformation, revelation and outcome you want to see your life. ⠀
⠀
Let me know if you have ever read the bible and what tips helped you.
Thank you for this reminder that our renewed strength comes from waiting on the Lord 🙌🏾🙌🏾

You are fearfully and wonderfully made!
I love speaking to purpose led female entrepreneurs, especially those who fill a noticeable void in the fashion market.
Sisters Keyondra Lockett and Kimberly Lockett share their experience of transitioning from #1 Billboard Artist and Celebrity Stylist, respectively to now the owners of the clothing brand Jolie Noire. They share how representation was so important to them in fashion that it was the catalyst behind the brand.
They said ‘The idea behind the brand/statement Jolie Noire, is that black is beautiful. Jolie Noire stands for Pretty Black in French. We are primed to think dark colors (specifically black) are negative and light colors are positive. In an effort to level the playing field, we're working to shape the minds of onlookers and change the meaning, emotions, and values associated with black. Color is something that doesn't come pre labeled, we label it... At Jolie Noire we choose to believe that black, like other colors, is beautiful!’
Their leading scripture is:
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139:14 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT
May I never forget that I made it through the naysayers, the rejection, the isolation, manipulation, bad decisions, insecurities and doubt by the grace of God.
May you keep fighting what was promised to you.
💕Go higher.
💕Go hard.
💕Go with God

During these times this is what I’m relying on It hit me so hard that I created this reminder in the form of a mug.
➡️FYI limited supplies⬅️ [Message me here to purchase ]
One thing that I have been reflecting on is something I spoke about during the Summit. And that was that whatever thoughts and decisions I have to make they will only turn out right when I decide to go with God.
So during my high moments I have to Go With God. During my low moments I have to Go With God. When I choose to take on the spirit of Ruth I will follow where God leads, leave where God isn't and go where God is! (inspired by Ruth 1:16) This is my prayer for you as well.
