On one of our recent dives to Dhevana Kandu in Vaavu atoll gave us a very cool surprise . We were very lucky to encounter a Juvenile male Oceanic Manta ray and one of our guest got a pretty good Id shot for the manta which we passed on to and they helped us out to identify the manta ray as a new individual . We have named the manta "Bernhard Jr " πŸ₯³
Recently Oceanic Manta rays have been given endangered status by IUCN .

Manta rays are very curious and playful creatures , often found in area's where there is plankton congregation on the reef , bay areas and on cleaning stations .
Its important while diving and encountering them we do not chase or touch them . Specially in cleaning station dives its very important to avoid going on top of these cleaning stations , best way is to remain hooked 3-4 meters distance away from the area and observe the manta rays while being hooked in .
