What a way to end duck season yesterday! 2 specks shy of a 4 man limit of specks(1 guy left early and took his birds). 1 mallard shy of a 3 man limit plus 2 drake wigeon and 1 drake black duck. Finally getting some good colder weather and birds are showing up. Time to start picking away at the geese.

Pictures from the Texas trip. We hunted with . Highly recommend hunting with them and we will be back next year to get on some cranes. First day we shot a good amount of lessers with some bonus specks. Second day we limited out on specks with some bonus lessers. 3rd day we shot good amount of specks with some bonus lessers and snows. Jeff and his crew did a great job and one hell of some great meals to go along with the hunts.

Well as we head home from our Missouri and Texas trip here’s some of the pictures from Missouri. We leased a pit off of like we have done the last couple of years. Birds were a little stale but migrators were showing up in big numbers while we was there. Just happened to be there a day or 2 too early and left a day or 2 too early lol. That’s part of hunting tho. If you are looking for some guided hunts or self guided in the boot heel area of Missouri then these guys are the ones to book with. Always a great time and they have always treated us great. Make sure to book your stay at the .chute.lodge for a great place to stay also. Every year we have went we have stayed there and the place just keeps getting better and better.

Managed to pick off a few more mallards and a couple geese. Definitely weird to be hunting in the upper 50s to low 60s in December. Time for the cold front to come through and stay for a bit. Ready for a good push of ducks before the season goes out.

This ol man turned 8 years old today. He’s starting to look older but definitely isn’t acting like it yet. Still has a ton of pup in him. He was able to have a good early birthday gift yesterday and retrieve a bunch of ducks.

Nothing like a mix bag of ducks on Christmas Eve with a couple good buddies. A blue wing was a little lost around here for this time of year.

A few new products came in the main today. Once again thanks for the quick service and great products Can’t wait to get these calls on the lanyard and call in some ducks and geese.

Had a couple great groups of guys come down last weekend. First day was able to put them on a good amount of birds. Shooting started out a little rough but they picked it up and managed to get a decent pile. The second day only a 1/4 of the birds showed up with the crappy warm weather that we got. The final day the birds just didn’t corporate very well but did manage to get one of the guys his first hell of a stud drake wigeon. Definitely was a great group of guys and always welcome to come back anytime.

Occasionally, people tell me, "Oh, it's only a dog," or... "Well, that's a lot of money for just a dog."

They see the travel distance, the time spent and spending of the money for just a dog, and they don't understand.

Hour after hour passes, and my only company is just a dog. (And in those hours my heart is full, my mind is calm, my lap is warm, and my time passes without worry.)

Some of my most proud moments were with only a dog, and also some of my saddest moments came only with a dog. (I look back and I can think of all of those moments, with so many dogs, and in a flash I want to cry and to smile)

However, in those dark days, it was the gentle touch of only a dog that made me strong and motivated to keep going. (In some dark days, getting up to something that was just happy I woke up.)

Only a dog brings me pure friendship, trust, and perfect happiness.

Only a dog brings compassion and patience, which makes me a better person.

Only with a dog will get up early, take long walks, and look forward to the future.

For people like me, it is not "just a dog."

My dog is an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams for the future, many a happy memory from the past, and the pure joy for the present.'

For the people that say "It's just a dog" have only had 'just a dog and none of the special connection you can feel with another living creature.

Watch’Em Fall Outdoors crew will be hitting the road at the end of the year into the first few weeks of the new year. We will be hitting up like we have the last couple of years. Always has been a great place to hunt. We will be staying at the .chute.lodge the best lodge around. Then after a few days there we will be heading even farther south down to Texas to to hunt with them for a few days. We will be busy this season with that trip and guiding this year also. Hope this season brings on some good numbers of birds and some cold nasty (perfect hunting) weather.

Been doing some blind work for a couple of the spots. Still need to add some brush to a couple of them and finish a few others. Never can be brushed enough!! Just about that time for duck/goose season to go in full swing. We are ready for this coming Saturday!!!
