Hey ladies!!!! The post we have all been excitedly waiting for!!!

We are making a few changes, for this block swap we are focusing only on the gift blocks.

Materials needed by yardage, for the block only, is:

Christmas theme 1 1/8 yd for the boxes (gifts)
Accent color 3/8 yd for the ribbon & bow
Block background (white tone on tone) 3/4 yd

Remaining yardage for background, binding and backing will possibly vary (depending on your sizes of the corner blocks & piece border)

Helpful tips for following the pattern:
In
step 1) the corner block (A) size and print will be your choice
B&C is part of your piece border, if you decide to have it

Follow step 2 as described, except don’t forget to cut a 1/4” seam when making your triangles

After this point your block is finished and ready to be mailed!!!!
You will mail out 14 blocks and keep 2. It will be your decision if the 2 blocks you keep match or you make yourself 2 different prints.

The fabric details:
The gift needs to be Christmas theme, not necessarily have to be red, green
The ribbon can be solid or print
The background needs to be white tone on tone. No colored specs, no glitter, just white tone on tone.

You have the options to add name tags to your gifts blocks. This step is completely optional but it is very easy! All you need is a small amount of off-white/cream/etc fabric, heat n bond hem adhesive and a fine tip fabric marker.

As far as the mailing your blocks go: please have your blocks mailed by Sept 15th. Please post a picture of your happy mail (envelops), getting ready to go out, before you send them. Please include your return address on your envelopes.
Everyone should be able to fold your block in 3rds and fit it in a regular long envelope.
PLEASE DO NOT POST A PICTURE OF YOUR BLOCK yet!! We want this to be a surprise for everyone!

Once you start getting your blocks please let us know if you have any questions on figuring out how much material is needed to finish your quilt.

Good evening ladies!!! We have been trying to come up with one more person to have our 16 again (if you know anyone please have them contact us)…but we have decided let y’all vote..

Do y’all want to continue to wait for one more person OR
we can go ahead and post all the details and get started.
If we decide to start now, with 15 people, the only difference will be, you will keep 2 blocks, still mailing the other 14. Would be your decision if you made your two the same or different print etc.

Our goal was to have this swap started by Sept 1st.

This is a free pattern, it is 55x65, but you can always add extra borders if you want it bigger.
We need 16 people for everyone to make 1 block OR 8 people to make 2 blocks.
Y’all let us know by August 31st and we will have more details Sept 1. (Sooner if we get 8 or 16 people to join quicker) 😁
