At Back To Zion we hand-make dresses for you to make memories in and pass down to your children. ✨
Every garment is handmade in Arkansas with vintage linens by some of our states enduring pillars - our Grandmothers. 🌺
Muse 💕 give us all the puffed sleeves, romantic necklines and dreamy silhouettes please. ✨
Last fall, we made the First Lady of Arkansas’ formal dress for a special event she attended - she was a dream to work with! ✨
_
We modified our Lela silhouette to meet her request! She loved the ornate detail of the sleeves and the cut of the neckline. And she even chose to use some of Drew’s hand selected vintage material. 💕
_
We loved working with her, and she looked absolutely beautiful in her Zion Dress.

People often ask where the name “Back To Zion” came from - wondering if it has spiritual meaning. It does have a deep meaning to me. 🌙
Zion is the road I grew up on, the road I ran away from at 18 and the road I ran back to find myself after a life changing event. Back To Zion means “Back Home” to me. ✨
I hope our clothing line always inspires you to go back to your roots, cherish your family and stay true to yourself. 💛
Ps. We will be giving away Zion postcards at our Pop-up next Friday (December 17th) to send to your nearest and dearest! Come see us from 1-5pm 🌲
We’re working on something fun for an upcoming Pop-Up (stay tuned for details! 🎉) and I need your help! Which photo of Zion Rd. inspires you most - 1, 2 or 3? Tell me below. ✨
Pattern cutting and creating videos for our seamstresses today with Angina - our Lead Seamstress and Mother Hen! 💛
This craft is such a dying art. When I first started Back To Zion, I had forgotten the time, attention to detail and skill that it takes to make a garment from start to finish.
That is why I am so excited to bring you these one of kind, heirloom dresses in the Spring! Each one is sewn by a woman in Arkansas who tediously studied the pattern and fabric and very carefully sewed a dress for you to make memories in. ✨
Did you grow up with a Grandmother or mother who sews?! 💛
Here we are - me with ketchup on my face and my oldest sister Lela sandwiched between her two best friends in our Grandparent’s restaurant nestled in rural South Arkansas. Circa 1994.
Lela has always been a second mama to me and inspired me to use my imagination and make space for creativity. (She was one of the first people I told about the concept for Back To Zion when the vision came to me in the summer of 2020).
Shortly after I moved back to Arkansas, I went through a tough season and huge transition. Lela hand made a special necklace for me during that time that I wore --and still wear-- every single day which is now what we call our Zion Necklace (named after the road we grew up on together).
I am so excited to introduce you to her today on the journal and tell you more about the story of our sweet sisterly collaboration. Read the story and see all the old family photos - https://shopbacktozion.com/journal/collaboration-zion-necklace 💛
In honor of our post from earlier ✨🌙💫 P.S. pretty sweet journal entry coming tomorrow that I cannot wait to share. This person is pretty near and dear to my heart, and I just know you’re going to love her 💛 Any guesses?!

Hi there - I’m Drew, Founder and Designer here at Back To Zion. Thank you so much for being a part of our beautiful community. 💛
Here are some fun facts about BTZ:
— I started Back To Zion after moving home from New York City and sewing with my Grandmother, Irma Lee - our muse. 💛
— Every silhouette in our first collection is designed and named after a woman in my family. 💛
— I am so passionate about family, legacy and creating a sense of belonging in women all over the world through these peices - I mean, everyone should have a handmade dress by Grandmother. 💛
— Launching our first line of dresses in the Spring! 🎉 (Our Holiday Capsule Collection is live now - Christmas Stockings, Mama’s Makeup bag and our Zion Necklace.)
— Oh! P.S. - the name “Back To Zion” was named after the road I grew up on out in a little farm community in Arkansas - Zion Road. So our name really means “Back Home” to me. 🌺

Happy Thanksgiving, beautiful friends. I hope it’s filled with love, laughter, and memorable moments you’ll hold for a lifetime 💛✨ Who are you spending Thanksgiving with today?!
Selah. 💛 What ‘small thing’ are you grateful for today?
One of the most special parts of Back To Zion is collecting vintage fabrics that are already sewn with rich heritage from decades past. ✨
Most of the linens we use are tattered, stained and on their way to a landfill. We carefully wash and restore each piece and give them a whole new purpose as we sew new soul into their fibers
Today on our journal, I’m answering Back To Zion’s most asked question, “Where did you find that fabric?!” and taking you on a sourcing adventure I went on recently. 💛
Read and see one of the ways we source our heirloom fabric: https://shopbacktozion.com/journal/linen-sourcing/canton

It’s hard to believe that I moved back home to Arkansas 1 year ago - the place I had resisted for so long. I was convinced there was nothing for me in my home state, and I had no plans of ever returning.
Yet, I found myself tired, empty and longing for more. So desperate for a change, I decided to go Back To My Roots , and to my surprise, I found the way back to myself.❤️
I’ve learned that beautiful things exist inside those broken places, my friend.
Lean into your story, your heritage, your roots and watch magic happen.✨
