So excited to be adding a few new packages that will be available next month!

In this work, it’s hard to tell how long I will remain with particular clients!

Some folx hire me early in their pregnancies, later in their pregnancies, after their baby(ies) arrive. It truly varies!

This particular client relationship began 8/2/2022!!!! It “ended” 6/2/2023….I put ended in quotes, because we will still remain in touch for years to come!

I was lucky enough to support these amazing Moms’ for TEN months!

Grateful is an absolutely understatement!

Wrapping up with clients always hard, but then you get unexpected love 💕 I couldn’t be more grateful to support the most amazing families!

To kick off World Doula Week, I had the PLEASURE of speaking on the 2nd Annual Women’s Panel at my Daughter’s school to 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders and the important jobs we can have!

Among the panel were a coder, civil engineer, doctor, school committee chairperson, police officer, police detective and myself.

One year ago today I opened my small business and Chasing Rainbows Birth Services was born!

I had ZERO idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew this is what I had wanted to do for the longest time!

It’s so amazing how trauma and a pandemic were what I needed to make my dreams a reality.

In this one year I’ve had the privilege of supporting 43 Families!!!!!!!

3 of them were navigating their fertility journeys, 15 I supported during the postpartum period, and 25 of them I was able to witness their beautiful baby(ies) being brought into this world!

I can’t even being to explain to you what it means to me to have someone allow me to be present for their birth…to see them in one of the most intimate and vulnerable moments of their life.

This job isn’t easy….it’s heartwork and I am so honored to do this work

Babies come on their own terms!
The doula has attending FOUR births since Tuesday and to say I am exhausted is an understatement!

However, it fills my heart with so much joy that I was able to support all of these families!

Tuesday I supported a family with an EDD of 3/8, Wednesday evening into Thursday AM a family with an EDD of 3/25, Friday I supported an amazing SMBC who delivered on her due date, and today I supported an absolutely AMAZING unmedicated VBAC, that was due yesterday,that was probably one of
The most empowering and beautiful moments I had ever seen as Mom
And Dad arrived at the hospital and were already 10cm!

I often have clients ask me, what will you do while we are sleeping or what if I get an epidural and nap for a few hours!? I journal your labor/birth journey and then share a beautiful little story with you at the end about the little things! Clients love it so much 💜

2022 what a year!!!! To think these starts are from June when I started doing this work full time is AMAZING!! Thank YOU to all of my clients for letting me support you 💜.

There's the clear-cut data...and then the messy data.

Yes we provided 96 families with fertility, birth and postpartum doula support.

And at the same time, these numbers don't accurately sum up the complexity and messiness of TTC, pregnancy, birth, postpartum; nor does it capture the dedication of our team.

This data doesn't capture:
❤️ marathon hip squeezes during labor
❤️ countless check ins
❤️attuning to clients
❤️affirming of your choices
❤️advocacy
❤️giving you the space to think through what you want...and strategies to get there.

As Maya Angelou said, “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

We cannot control a lot of things when it comes to the reproductive journey and early parenthood, but we can control the care team surrounding you, the preparation you do, and we help you respond to challenges as they arise.

And as we wrap up 2022, please remember: Your are enough. Your are loved.

TTC/pregnancy/birth/postpartum/parenthood is HARD, and yet, you are a badass who's got this.
