Here’s what I have scheduled so far this year. I’ll update as shows are added.

08/01/2024

Thanks very much to everyone who caught one (or more) of my shows in 2023. I’m in the process of booking for 2024 - where would you like to see me perform? In addition to great venues that support live music around Grand Rapids and Traverse City, I also do private, non-profit and corporate events.

I kicked off 2024 last Saturday at Iron Fish Distillery, and I have upcoming public shows 2/16 at Shady Lane Cellars and 4/30 at Mari Vineyards. I’ll update my schedule as I add dates.

How Sweet it is to be Loved by You 06/01/2024

I’m performing solo tonight 6-8pm at Iron Fish Distillery.

Here’s a video of my performance with Mid-Life Crisis, Jenison High School symphony and choir, and Jenison Elementary honors choir. I don’t think we’d all fit on the Iron Fish stage 😀

Song for Mom 22/11/2023

https://youtu.be/e0YzgmiiZNE?feature=shared

I wrote a song for my mom during the final six weeks of her cancer journey. I normally start writing a song with lyrics and a thread of a melody, but this one poured out of me first as just a melody with no intention to add words. With each trip between Grand Rapids and Cheboygan, words just started coming to me (some were written down on the back of an envelope on the two-lane portion of US 131).

Hospice of the Straits lent us a keyboard and I was able to play it for my mom before she passed away, then I performed it at her funeral. I recorded the piano and vocal on this recording shortly afterward, and I’ve performed it live a handful of times, but it’s still a very emotional song for me (particularly the last verse) even though it’s been 18 years.

I’m excited to be joining my longtime friend and music collaborator Phil Biggs on November 18 for the release party of his new album “This Great Stage” at The Collaborative Lab. The concert will benefit Hope Network’s efforts to fight homelessness in West Michigan, and it will be live streamed - I’ll share the link when it gets created. There will be a limited live audience, but you can join us virtually from the comfort of your own home. The livestream will be free, and there will be an opportunity for you to contribute online to Hope Network.

The Jason Kinzler Family First Foundation is an amazing organization that provides financial assistance to West Michigan families with minor children who have experienced the unexpected loss of a primary care-giver. Please consider attending this great event, and feel free to bid on my live auction item - I pair well with food.

The Kinzler Foundation is thankful to our friend Kevin Paul for contributing a solo music performance in your own home to our live auction at our September 28th fundraiser; even better, there's a catering gift certificate From Distinctive Catering included so you can create your own party for family, friends or co-workers!

Thank you Greyline Brewing Co. for having me perform Wednesday night. It was great seeing so many friends, and making a few new ones. My next show is August 12 at The Pub - TC from 4:30-7:30pm.

I’m going deep into the early Elton catalog tonight at Greyline Brewing Co. This is from the first songbook I bought nearly 50 years ago - I thought it was appropriate since the first line asks if I can buy you another glass of beer. It looks like a great Michigan summer day, so I’ll be playing outside.

29/07/2023

I had a great time playing at North Bar TC yesterday. My next show will be in Grand Rapids on Wednesday 8/2 from 7-9pm at Greyline Brewing Co.
