I've reached my second trimester, and even though I still generally feel like I've died and have just been dug back up, it's better than it was. In about a month I'm moving house, and am off to Disney, so the shop will be closed for the first half of October. I've had loads of messages asking about ordering for Halloween, so I've decided now I feel a little stronger, I'm going to reopen the shop again this week for a few weeks. Processing times will be a little longer to account for any random times the baby wants to cause me drama, especially for the ghosts as they're all made to order and i was putting too much pressure on myself.

TEMPORARY SHOP CLOSURE.

Due to pregnancy and sickness, I'm pausing the shop. I've been stubborn up until now in keeping it open, but this last few weeks of the first trimester is a hell of a lot harder than I anticipated. That, plus the ridiculous heat, and doing my normal everyday job, it's just not doable at the moment. The moment I realised I wasn't enjoying running the shop and that it just caused me massive anxiety was when I realised I needed a time out.

I'm not sure how long it'll be for. At least a couple of weeks. Maybe the whole of August until I reach what everyone keeps telling me is a much easier second trimester 🤞🏻

Well, it's been a minute! Sorry I've been AWOL for the past couple weeks. It's been eventful to say the least.

The good news is after 6 looooong years, I've finally graduated my Psychology degree with a first class honours. 🎓 a swift F you to the disability assessor guy right at the beginning who told me "someone like you will find it an infinite amount harder than a normal person". Maybe he was right, but I wasn't destined to fail.

The bad news is I've been constantly throwing up or feeling sick. First trimester blues, so I've been out of action. I thought about closing the shop for a little bit, and I'm still not sure. I'm just taking each day as it comes.

It's that time of year again for all the non mentally ill people to tell the mentally ill people to go outside more 🙃 I don't know if the people behind this have ever been dosed up to their eyeballs on anti psychotics or have been so depressed they haven't showered and left their bed in weeks. Or tried to overdose on anti depressions for the irony or have had constant voices telling them not to bother doing anything to try and get better because they're useless and pathetic and there's no point. I think if they had, they'd pick another question before "have you tried jogging?"

While I'm glad of a general conversation about the topic, there's too much focus on exercise and well being and self care. All great things, don't get me wrong. But, what about those with severe mental illness, who continue to be affected by stigma, misunderstanding and a lack of urgent care? I have EUPD, an illness known as "the one like bipolar". I have OCD, and still get asked how often I wash my hands because anything outside of the stereotype is just an alien concept obviously. And I'm someone who's a lot better now than I once was. So I think of the people who are as ill as I was a decade ago or worse and realise that not a lot has changed since then, and that's sad, and it's infuriating.
Being depressed isn't just being a bit low. Having bipolar isn't the same as your hormonal mood swings. Having schizophrenia doesn't make you a danger to society. Having OCD isn't an adjective for a tidy person. PTSD isn't from a cringey moment when you embarrassed yourself infront of your first crush. BPD/EUPD isn't having multiple personalities. Anorexia isnt being a picky eater. There's a difference between natural anxiety and clinical anxiety.

It's easy to ask someone how they are. What seems to be difficult is asking someone about their illnesses and experiences. How can we expect the people in charge of the system to take it seriously if we as a society don't?

I've had one of those days where I've kept doing things wrong because brain fog has just been strong, so here's a ghost I unmoulded yesterday that went wrong (I didn't let it thicken enough so my flower buds floated 🙄) but I actually think she looks alright! It'll probably be listed as a B Grade on my shop when I eventually list it after I inevitably forget 😁
