Vets Who Enjoy Vetting #2.

We had a great gathering of UQ Vet students, and a variety of fully-engaged industry vets yesterday at Forest Hill School of Arts. Students had a chance to mingle with vets working in smallies, mixed and equine practice, behaviouralists, and several vets from emergency. What a great initiative to get some better engagement between students and their future professional peers.

Thank you to the representatives of & & .emergency.australia & UQ Vet School & & Marburg Vets & Engage Vet Behaviour & & who came along to talk to the students about different parts of the vet industry! 🐾

Dr Judy and some of the upcoming UQ Vet students, helping out at Pets in the Park, Caboolture. Always a great way to give back to our communities and help look after those pets that might otherwise not find their way to vet clinics.

Welcome to our newest of new grads for 2024. We are so pleased to have James, Angelika, Javier & Laura joining us from UQ, and Piya joining us from Adelaide Uni. We look forward to having our new vets join us with their new knowledge, energy and enthusiasm.

Dr Fiona from Idexx joined us today to walk us through interpretation of blood results. So good to be joined by UQ Vet students, our soon-to-graduate new recruit vets for 2024, and also some foreign-trained vets who are here in Australia to sit their vet registration exams in 2024. We are very grateful to Dr Fiona and Idexx for sharing their knowledge 🎓🩺

Our team held a great event tonight with Dr Cate Webb from . Our clients were coached about all things behavioural re their dogs. We all went away with a greater understanding of the 7M’s of modifying behaviour. So great to have such strong relationships with other veterinary gurus within the Industry, and for our clients to be able to access these no-charge learning experiences.

5th year UQ Vet student Jaime has been spending a fortnight with us at Rebound Rehab . It’s Great to see the vets of the future keen to learn from our Rehab experts Simone and Laura 😊 .

Barefoot Bowling at Norman Park Bowls Club for a bit of friendly banter and inter-clinic competition. Fair to say that the Bowling was the winner on the day 😉.

Training with a difference.
Tonight we were coached by Stuart, Camille & Moses from NAB about how best to manage HECS debt, while also saving for a home loan deposit. Great to be offered some life skills coaching to fill the gaps from our Vet Science training. 🥊
Thanks to our partners at National Australia Bank for delivering such accessible training in an understandable format.

Careers Day at UQ Gatton yesterday saw Dr Judy and Dr Erin, and our Support Manager, Mandy, meeting with plenty of eager 4th and 5th year vet students, and 3rd year vet tech students. They had a great time connecting with students and helping answer some Industry specific questions. Thanks UQ Vets for inviting and including our team.

Dr Judy had a great time connecting with UQ Vet students last night with their “Owning a Vet Practice” seminar, organised by SAMS SIG.
So good to have a lively discussion with plenty of insightful questions about what practice ownership looks like and what students are currently aspiring to achieve after graduation.
Take a look at the vet practice owners of tomorrow!

Crampton’s consulting are doing a great job of guiding our “new grad” vets through an eight month mentoring program.
Our new vets will be learning all about
- emotional intelligence
- healthy workplace habits
- structuring consults for success
- dealing with difficult clients
- understanding fee setting & valuing their worth
- managing financial conversations
- and a general de-brief of all of the above

We hope this program will give them valuable skills as they navigate their first year in clinical practice.

We were so privileged to have Dr Chris Tan from My Surgical Coach with us last week.
Chris is a fantastic trainer and was able to give some excellent hands-on surgical tips to our Veterinary Surgeons. It’s amazing to have such talented colleagues available to assist with advancing the learnings of our veterinary teams.

“Vets who enjoy Vetting” function at Awassi Cheesery today was a great success. Our UQ Vet student colleagues had plenty of insightful questions for our Industry Vets, and the Awassi home made cheeses and ice-creams were a huge hit. The future of our fabulous profession is definitely in good hands.

Happy !

We are proud to celebrate the amazing Women we work with. There has been a rise in the presence of female professionals in the veterinary industry, and this trend is reflected in The Judhar Vet Group. Women now make up more than two-thirds of veterinary school admissions., suggesting a significant shift towards female domination!

UQ Vet students Mark, Aaron, Tara and Liam were a great help at Pets in the Park Caboolture yesterday. It’s great when learning opportunities for vet students = better care for the pets in our communities. Thanks to our Vet Dr Judy and PITP co-ordination Glenda for coordinating the students and patients for another successful PITP clinic.

At the JudharVetGroup, we are proud to support our international vet friends worldwide in their journey to becoming qualified in Australia. So great to have Dr Cate Webb from “Engage Veterinary Behaviour and Training” visit us today. She has a wealth of knowledge in Behaviour and was happy to generously share it to help upskill our vets and nurses, to further help our patients.

Welcome to our newest of new grad vets from UQ. We are thrilled to welcome Brittany, Ern, Caroline and Erin from the class of 2022, and look forward to helping them through their first weeks and months of practice 🩺. Such a privilege to have their enthusiasm and new knowledge joining our teams.

Pets in the Park Caboolture is capably coordinated by the ever energetic Glenda. She does a fabulous job coordinating the care of animals owned by clients who are at risk of homelessness.

Vet students Amy (JCU 4th year) and Duncan (UQ 2nd year) were happy to help out last weekend, by assisting the volunteer vets, administering tablets, assisting with general physical examinations, trimming nails and performing ear cleans. All great learnings for Vet students, and we’re sure all the PITP patients appreciated their extra care 😊.
