From the next project to be released, and one so very beautiful and close to my heart. The Twilight Cafe. I hope you all get the chance to meet Rhonda.
I need to write. And workout. But I think a little longer right here won't hurt.
Long post alert:
Those of you that know me well know how much this woman means to me.
My wonderful Grammy, passed away this morning. I was able to be with her and hold her hand while she passed.
She was more than a Grandma. She was my second mom. Until I moved to Florida, I saw her everyday. Every Friday until probably my sophmore year of high school, I spent the night at her house...and I only stopped because I thought maybe I should hang out with friends or something. She drove the bus to all school field trips, so I had a built in chaperone. She was at every one of my ball games, plays, concerts...everything. She made every Halloween costume (even painted herself green to be the Wicked Witch the year I was Dorothy, and didn't tell me) and taught me how to sew.
She was my shopping buddy. She never said no to ice cream, but sometimes to letting me have a sip of her coke...because it meant she added a little rum. And then, in some of my darkest days, the mirror to myself that I didn't know I needed.
She saved me more than once.
It feels so surreal. You know your grandparents will pass before you, but I just always thought she'd be there...because she always was. Even in these past few years living with dementia, I would get small moments of Grammy back. Most recently. A glare of disapproval at my ripped jeans π€£
I am so glad that you had a peaceful transition...and this will be harder on me then it was on you. I am so thankful for that.
Because you helped me become the strong person I am. So thanks to you, I can handle it.
And I know you will always be with me.
I love you forever.

I am EXTREMELY grateful that, as a professional actor, the job that supports that is something that uses all of the skills I have honed in my 20 years working professionally.
As a host, I am in the studio or on location. Using my improv skills for live, unscripted programming or my "grab and go" cold reading audition techniques for teleprompter work. Working on camera techniques and bringing life to programs through the lens.
I am grateful because I have worked HARD to be here. I say lucky, because landing these jobs, like acting, is a million little things that have to line up just right...and there were many, many years, when those stars did not align.
Earlier this year, the stars DID align, and I was able to host an unscripted travel show. The Kissimmee Experience. Today, the first four episodes are available. Wednesday, the fifth episode. And August 14th, the final five. This was such a special project. The guests, the clients, but most especially, the crew. Our little family for 2 months. We truly got to have a blast and experience the awesomeness that is Central Florida together.
I would love if you took a look at the show we so lovingly created. This set, crew, process, respect, etc....this is what actors and writers are striking for. And we have it right here.
As an actor, I am a member of Actor's Equity and am SAG-eligible. Last year, I recieved my official letter stating I had done enough SAG/AFTRA work to join the union. I haven't yet, but I will. Because I believe in what they do. Because it is a goal of mine. My hosting duties, while similar, do not fall under any SAG contracts currently, and specifically not the one being struck. I support that strike.
So, I will not be posting like I normally would, in solidarity.Β I always believe you should go with your gut, and that just feels right to me right now.
But just once, to say thank you the team at
