My Friday Night Art Party Time!

A beautiful creative time. I chose to work on my Forest of Grandmothers painting. I’m now to a point I need to sit with where we are and listen for messages.

I find in artistic circles there is a lot of talk about the critic and the muse. These are important conversations because the fact of the matter is that the most important relationship we will ever have is with the voices inside ourselves. There are the more dominant voices of criticism that are fed by our cultures and our social conditioning that tell us that we are not ‘enough’ in this way or that, and that bring in comparisons with others and tells us that ‘your art, writing, speaking, hair, body, face, mind will never be like __(insert name here)___ so you should not even try.’ We all know this voice, or these voices that reside deep inside....

A little Friday night art. This was an absolute blast! I’m working on newsprint paper! A whole new set of opportunities! (and challenges 😂)

A gorgeous start to the weekend as I connect with a new intention and bring in all the powers of the cosmos to assist!

I decided to submit a second painting!!! This one is actually still a work in progress, but it is completed to a stage where I feel like it could be submitted. It is from the class I did over the weekend! I really can't wait to share this one with you, but I want to keep it a secret until I find out if it has been accepted!

‘Dare alla Luce’
To bring to the light

I completed this painting two evenings ago and sat with it last night and journaled about what came through for me during the process of bringing this into being. The purpose of this painting was originally about integrating the logical and creative aspects of the mind with the energy and truth of the heart. But it has turned into so much more than that for me. It is a testament to the past, a hope for the future, and a reminder in the present that I truly have all that I need. The symbols its holds speak to connection, wisdom, transformation, love, community, growth, knowledge, sanctuary, passion, and for holding a lightness of being within my heart. It also stands as a reminder of the importance of living an authentic life and the rewards that come from being internally aligned with the deepest truth held inside of your being. Completing this on the cusp of my birthday was an opportunity to reflect upon my life up to this moment, and also to dream of what will come forward in the next several decades of my life. I have at least another 40 years or more and I fully plan on living them in looking forward to what I want to create and bring to world, and what my legacy will be.

Tonight I have lit candles and gathered flowers from plants I planted several years ago. I am going to begin a new painting this evening in honour of this threshold moment. I am honouring the space between what is and what will be. I am stepping toward the multitude of possibilities that I can connect with from this moment in time and space. Magic exists and miracles happen.
I am fully open to receiving both.

Progress after putting gesso over the mandala. Really loving my easel ❤️ So much easier having the canvas at the right height!

I invested in an easel that can hold large canvases as an early birthday present to myself! I assembled it this morning and I’m going to paint a layer of gesso over this manadala and see what emerges as I explore a class called Insight being offered by Shiloh Sophia through Musea this week!

I have finished my eARTh element painting! This has so many layers to it and it really was an absolute pleasure to paint! 💚💚💚

Stepping outside my comfort zone tomorrow and I’m going to paint for 24 hours straight! Getting set up tonight and then hoping for a good nights sleep before I begin tomorrow morning!
