The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part #20)

1 John 4:9-10

9 By this the love of God was revealed in us, that God has sent His only Son into the world so that we may live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Key points: Jesus Christ did for us what we could not do ourselves. God loves us and sent His Son, who obediently suffered on our behalf. God loves us in a way that no one else can. That’s why He provided such a wonderful sacrifice and the hope of eternal life with Him.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ ( #19)

1 John 1:7-2:2

7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Key points: John, the apostle packs important truths into this passage. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. As we walk with Him—LIVE LIFE!—if we will just struggle against sin and strive to be His servant, the Lord Jesus Christ will take care of the rest. Jesus is our Advocate with God, He is the perfect propitiation for our sins. He can save anyone in the world, including you and me.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 18)

1 Peter 3:18, 21-22

18 For Christ also suffered for sins once for all time, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; … in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water. 21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

Key points: The apostle Peter reiterates Christ’s death on the cross—the sinless Son of God for sinful men and women—as a sacrifice for us. His blood, the precious blood of Jesus Christ, removes our sins at immersion (baptism) into Christ, who accomplished His work on earth and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

26/06/2022

the Gospel of Jesus Christ ( #17)

1 Peter 2:21-25

21 For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps, 22 HE WHO COMMITTED NO sin, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT found IN HIS MOUTH; 23 and while being abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

Key points: Jesus Christ, who was innocent of any sin, died for you. He took your sins and paid the penalty for the awful things you have done. His blood can heal us spiritually. We can be seen as righteous in the mind of God even though we have sinned. He wants to forgive you, but you must seek His mercy. The gospel is not complicated. We sin; we (deserve to) die. Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for us. We can be spiritually pure in God’s eyes if we will admit our sin and submit to the gospel.

The Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ (Part 16)

Hebrews 9:11-15
11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things having come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by hands, that is, not of this creation; 12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all time, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the violations that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Key points: In this passage the writer of Hebrews wrote of deep spiritual truth, but here we will focus on the blood of Christ. His blood provides redemption and hope. The blood of Jesus cleanses the obedient believer and provides the promise of eternal life. His blood is far superior to the animal sacrifices of the former covenant between God and Jews. All men and women have the opportunity to receive this promise and assurance.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 15)

Hebrews 2:9-17 – 9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, 12 saying,
“I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BROTHERS,
IN THE MIDST OF THE ASSEMBLY I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE.”
13 And again,
“I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM.”
And again,
“BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME.”
14 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, so that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. 16 For clearly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Key points: Abraham’s faith was credited by God as righteousness after he demonstrated his willingness to give his own son, Isaac. 400 years before the Law of Moses was given, God promised Abraham that all nations would be blessed through his lineage. Jesus suffered horribly and then “tasted” death for all men and women. The Lord Jesus Christ is the propitiation for our sins.

The gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 14)

I Timothy 1:8-10 8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

Key points: The apostle Paul wrote to the young(er) evangelist, Timothy, who was already a Christ follower. His message? The gospel message was worth suffering for at the hands of the Roman government and Jewish persecution because eternal spiritual death has been abolished through our Savior Jesus for those who are saved, not by our good deeds but through the grace and power of God. Paul is urging Timothy to remain faithful to God through Christ Jesus. He is our hope.

The gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 13)

Philippians 2:5-11 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. 9 For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Key points: As the apostle Paul admonished Christians at Philippi, he gave a quick overview of our Lord’s life. Jesus left heaven to humbly die a terrible death on the cross. He is Lord, and one day all men and women—saved and unsaved—will confess this truth. Do it now so you can be one of those in Christ, the redeemed of God, and saved!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 12)

Ephesians 2:1-5 – And you were dead in your offenses and sins, 2 in which you previously walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all previously lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the rest. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ.

Key points: Every person sins, and our sin separates us from God, but He is willing and able to forgive our sins and make us righteous in His eyes. The Lord God is “rich” in mercy, grace, and love. We are “made alive” in Christ (Jn 14:6; Ac 4:12). Be optimistic! God loves you. Submit to the Lord Jesus Christ and receive God’s mercy!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 11)
Paul's letter to the Galatians
Galatians 4:3-7 – 3 So we too, when we were children, were held in bo***ge under the elementary principles of the world. 4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters. 6 Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba! Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

Key points: Paul had continued on to other cities after preaching the gospel to churches in the province of Galatia. That’s when legalists—Jews who wished to bind the Law on new Christians—moved in and taught falsely, telling these new Christians that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was insufficient and they also had to keep the Law of Moses, a burden no man had ever been able to do perfectly with the exception of Jesus. Paul, obviously alarmed by this false teaching, wrote this magnificent letter we know as “Galatians” in which he explained that Christ’s sacrifice on the cross is enough to save us from our sins. We are freed from our wins in Christ!

Paul wrote in the previous chapter (Gal 3): 23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the Law, being confined for the faith that was destined to be revealed. 24 Therefore the Law has become our guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. 26 For you are all sons and daughters of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 10)

1 Corinthians 15:1-9 – Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, 2 by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
3 For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.

Key points: Paul shared the gospel with Christians at Corinth. He said Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day. All of this was foretold hundreds of years earlier in Scripture. Then Jesus appeared to hundreds of witnesses to prove He is the Messiah. We are to hold on tightly to this message if we wish to be saved.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 9)

Romans 8:31-34 – Paul’s letter to Christ’s church at Rome
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33 Who will bring charges against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ?

Key points: Rather than cower to the mighty Roman Empire, Christians established a group of believer, a church, in the heart of that republic where believers continued bravely on in the face of persecution. What did Paul say to Christians in Rome? God did not spare His Son, Jesus, giving Him for our sins. Christ died on the cross and now, His work complete, sits at the right hand of God where He intercedes for us. What can separate us from the love of God? Only our own stubbornness if we resist His will. The forgiving, loving Heavenly Father will justify us. He will look at us as though we have never sinned. It will be JUST-AS-IF-you-never-sinned!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 8) - Paul called to speak before King Agrippa

Acts 26:9- 23 (Paul called to defend himself before King Agrippa)
9 “So I thought to myself that I had to act in strong opposition to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. 10 And this is just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons, after receiving authority from the chief priests, but I also cast my vote against them when they were being put to death. 11 And as I punished them often in all the synagogues, I tried to force them to blaspheme; and since I was extremely enraged at them, I kept pursuing them even to foreign cities.
12 “While so engaged, as I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests, 13 at midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who were journeying with me. 14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15 And I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. 16 But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you as a servant and a witness not only to the things in which you have seen Me, but also to the things in which I will appear to you, 17 rescuing you from the Jewish people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending you, 18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’
19 “For that reason, King Agrippa, I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but continually proclaimed to those in Damascus first, and in Jerusalem, and then all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles, that they are to repent and turn to God, performing deeds consistent with repentance. 21 For these reasons some Jews seized me in the temple and tried to murder me. 22 So, having obtained help from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, stating nothing but what the Prophets and Moses said was going to take place, 23 as to whether the Christ was ]to suffer, and whether, as first from the resurrection of the dead, He would proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”

Key points: Paul, charged with the very serious crime of sedition against the government, welcomed the opportunity to speak before King Agrippa. This apostle and eyewitness of the resurrected Jesus used the opportunity to tell the King what happened to him on the road to Damascus, how Jesus had died for our sins, and how his gratitude and devotion and Christ had caused him to give up everything and become a persecuted prisoner for Christ. People don’t endure such hardship for a lie. Christ is risen!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 7)

Acts 17: 21:31 – 22 So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious in all respects. 23 For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; 26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might feel around for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His descendants.’ 29 Therefore, since we are the descendants of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by human skill and thought. 30 So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent, 31 because He has set a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all people by raising Him from the dead.”

Key points: A titanic clash occurred at Mars Hill in Athens when the apostle Paul collided with the liberal intellectuals of his day, men who sat around all day discussing the latest philosophical ideas and trends. What did Paul say? The Lord God is our Creator, the Author of life was (and still is) their “unknown god.” They no longer had to live in ignorance. All men sin and fall short of the glory of God. As with you and me, these intellectuals had one means of escaping their sins. Paul told them to overcome their ignorance, repent of their sins, and seek salvation through the risen Savior Jesus Christ. No one is too intelligent to avoid the consequences of sin. We all have the same problem, our sins, but Jesus can remove our sins and make us righteous and pure in God’s mind.

10/06/2022

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 6)

Acts 13:26-39 – 26 “Brethren, sons of Abraham’s family, and those among you who fear God, to us the message of this salvation has been sent. 27 For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him. 28 And though they found no ground for putting Him to death, they asked Pilate that He be executed. 29 When they had carried out all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb. 30 But God raised Him from the dead; 31 and for many days He appeared to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, the very ones who are now His witnesses to the people. 32 And we preach to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers, 33 that God has fulfilled this promise to our children in that He raised up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, ‘YOU ARE MY SON; TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU.’ 34 As for the fact that He raised Him up from the dead, no longer to return to decay, He has spoken in this way: ‘I WILL GIVE YOU THE HOLY and SURE blessings OF DAVID.’ 35 Therefore He also says in another Psalm, ‘YOU WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.’ 36 For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay; 37 but He whom God raised did not undergo decay. 38 Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39 and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

Key points: Paul, a Pharisee and persecutor of Christians, was converted to Christ and began preaching to others. He presented the gospel to Jews at Pisidian Antioch at their synagogue on the Sabbath. Paul’s message? God fulfilled His plan in Christ, who, though innocent, was put to death at Pilate’s order. God raised Jesus from the dead and it is through Jesus that forgiveness of sins is possible. A forgiven person is free and freed from sin and the impossible demands of the Law of Moses. God fulfilled all His promises, which began all the way back to Abraham, through Jesus the Christ. The Lord Jesus frees men and women from sin; something the Law, which demanded sinless perfection, could never do.

09/06/2022

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Part 5)

Acts 10:34:43 – 34 Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, 35 but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him. 36 The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)— 37 you yourselves know the thing which took place throughout all Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed. 38 You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. 39 We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross. 40 God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He become visible, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. 43 Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

Key takeawys: Remarkable circumstances surround this event. There was an incredible racial animosity between Jews and Gentiles in the 1st century, and yet here for the first time Peter (a Jew and an apostle) overcame his prejudice and shared the gospel with a Roman Gentile named Cornelius. The gospel wasn’t just for Jews. As God promised Abraham thousands of years earlier, all nations would one day be blessed through his descendant. THIS WAS THAT DAY! What did Peter communicate? Jesus was hanged on a cross, God raised Him from the dead, He was seen by multiple witnesses, and forgiveness of sins is offered to ALL men and women through the Him, the Lord Jesus Christ!

08/06/2022

The Gospel (Part 4)

Acts 5:29-32 – 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross. 31 He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

Key points: In the face of persecution and potential death, the apostles told the Sanhedrin that they were eyewitnesses of the resurrected Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. They were so convinced of this fact they were willing to die.

Glen Elliot's book, Complete in Christ, is an excellent tool for spiritual growth and evangelism. This book provides a detailed study of Paul's letter to the church at Colossae, also known as Colossians.

07/06/2022

The Gospel (Part 3)

Acts 3:13-16 – 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. 14 But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses. 16 And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.

Key points: This is the second time the apostle Peter shared the gospel (following Acts 2). This inspired apostle called Jesus Christ “the Holy and Righteous One,” “the Prince of Life,” and “the one whom God raised from the dead.” He then goes on to attribute the healing of the lame man that had just happened in their presence as through the name (power) of Jesus. If it wasn’t true, they could have stopped Christianity right there. The reality is Christ is risen for our sins and the lame man was healed as proof to support the resurrection of Jesus, who died for you! The miracle confirmed the message! Christ is risen!

06/06/2022

What is the Gospel? (Part 2)
For the first time following the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, the apostles explained what happened to several thousand people. Peter gave the first post-resurrection explanation of the gospel of Jesus Christ:

Acts 2:22-24; 29-36 – 22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. 24 But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.
29 “Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30 And so, because he was a prophet and knew that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH TO SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE, 31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY. 32 This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. 33 Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. 34 For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says:
‘THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
35 UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.”’
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”

Key points: An entire book could be written on this passage. Jesus was crucified as the culmination of God’s plan to save mankind. Jesus, His work on earth completed, the Lord sits at the right (honored) hand of God until the time foreordained by God to judge the living and the dead.

05/06/2022

(Part 1) What is the Gospel?
Are you able to explain the Gospel to others? There is no more important message to share with a lost and sinful world.... and your fellow man. One summary of the gospel can be found in Luke:
Luke 24: 44-47 – 44 Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
Key points: Jesus fulfilled all prophecies concerning the Messiah and the Law of Moses by living a perfect, sinless life. He was crucified, died, and rose from the dead on the third day to prove His identity. Salvation—forgiveness of our sins—is only found through Jesus Christ. He died for you. Submit to the Lord Jesus (Acts 2:38)

The Good Man - Cornelius - Acts 10 (Part 6 of 9)
Peter, the Jew who had been raised to look down on heathen Gentiles, went to Cornelius for one reason only: Peter obeyed God! I will know use ALL CAPS to differentiate my words from scripture.
Acts 10 follows
34 Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, 35 but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him. – Acts 10:34-35
(THE GOSPEL IS OPEN TO ALL MEN AND WOMEN! GOD LOVES EACH PERSON AND OFFERS YOU HOPE THROUGH THE BLOOD OF CHRIST!)
39 We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the [ad]land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. 43 Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.” (Acts 10:36-43)
PETER SHARED THE GOSPEL WITH CORNELIUS (AND HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY). JESUS DIED FOR THEIR SINS AND WAS RAISED ON THE 3RD DAY. THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT SALVATION IS IN CHRIST ALONE (JN 14:6; AC 4:12).
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. (Ac 10:44-45)
THIS WAS A SIGN TO THE PETER AN THE OTHER JEWS WITH HIM THAT, AS AT PENTECOST WHEN THE FIRST PEOPLE WERE IMMERSED INTO CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, THE BLOOD OF CHRIST WAS ALSO FOR THESE PAGANS. THEIR SOULS HAD EQUAL VALUE AND THEY COULD PUT ON CHIRST.
46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered, 47 “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” 48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. (Ac 10:46-48)
